Abstract

The corrugated cardboard pallet (1) uses cross members (2,3) arranged perpendicular to each other and rigidly assembled. The case (4) is made from a similar material and has two parallel sidewalls (7), the base of each side wall protrudes in the direction of the pallet as a part (8) which can be connected to a cross member. It may be attached by rolling around the cross member, or engaging with a lateral portion of the side wall protrusion which is folded into an opening in the cross member or an element attached to the cross members.

NEW QUICK MOUNT PALLET BOX IN ONE
SEMI-RIGID MATERIAL.

 The present invention relates to a new quick-mounting box pallet, made of a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard.

Pallet boxes are very popular for the transport and storage of bulk materials as well as finished products and a wide variety of articles. Indeed,
- on the one hand, the products to be transported or stored are housed directly in a box which may or may not be attached to the pallet used for handling them
- on the other hand, these pallets can be easily handled by fork-lift handling equipment
- Finally, the empty box can generally be folded flat on the pallet, the assembly being delivered in this form to users and can thus be stored in a small volume.

 The pallets of these pallet boxes are however generally made of wood and they are therefore heavy and bulky. In addition, these pallets pose problems of recovery, reuse or treatment of waste.

 The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a pallet box, both the pallet and the box are made of semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, therefore light and easy to retrieve and store.

 The invention also aims to provide a pallet box whose components, box and pallet, can be delivered separately to users, to be assembled easily and quickly by them, at the same place of use, without any tools and without use assembly accessories, such as screws, nails, rivets, glue or others.

 To this end, the subject of the invention is a pallet box with quick manual assembly, comprising a pallet consisting of crosspieces and longitudinal members made of a semi-rigid material, such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, arranged perpendicularly to each other and assembled rigidly, and a container, also made of a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, this pallet box being characterized in that the container has two parallel walls, at the base of each of which projects in the direction of the pallet at least one part capable of being made integral with a cross member or a spar, by winding around the latter or thereof, or by engagement of a lateral portion of these protruding folded parts judiciously folded in a recess in the cross member or the associated spar, or even in an element integral with this cross member or this spar.

 In the first embodiment, fold lines formed in parallel in the protruding parts make it possible to conform them by folding to the transverse profile of the crosspieces or associated longitudinal members, and of the lugs adjoining one of the bands defined by these lines of folding and able to be engaged in cutouts formed at the base of the two parallel walls make it possible to lock the corresponding part in the wrapped position around the cross member or the associated spar.

 In the second embodiment, on each part adjoining the parallel walls may be articulated by a fold line perpendicular to the bottom of the container, a second part erected perpendicular to the previous one, while a third part, articulated by a fold line on the second part can be folded parallel to the part adjacent to the wall to be engaged in the recess.

 The pallet and the container can be delivered separately to the users, with the container folded flat in the usual way, and they can also be stored in this form in a small volume. The assembly operations will require simple folding along preformed lines (upsets) of the parts adjoining the two parallel walls of the container and they can easily be implemented, without any effort and without any tool, on the very places of use of the palette.

The two embodiments of the pallet box according to the invention which have been mentioned above will be described below in more detail, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which

 In these two embodiments, the pallet and the container are made of corrugated cardboard and the pallet consists of elements of the type described in European patent application No. 0 456 961.

 In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 6, the pallet 1 comprises three cross members 2 with trapezoidal section and two longitudinal members 3 also with trapezoidal section and arranged perpendicular to the cross members 2, of which they are rigidly integral. That of the parallel faces of the crosspieces 2 and the longerons 3 of larger dimensions are turned towards the bottom of the container 4.

 It has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped and it comprises two parallel walls 5, to which are adjoined, by two parallel fold lines, two flaps 6, able to be folded against the pallet 1, after assembly of the latter and of the container. 4, to form the bottom of the latter. The container 4 also comprises two parallel walls 7, perpendicular to the walls 5, on which they are articulated by fold lines perpendicular to the flaps 6.

 In accordance with the invention, a part 8 projects at the base of each of the walls 7, on which it is articulated by a fold line perpendicular to the walls 5.

 As seen in Figures 1 and 5, the parts 8 are divided by fold lines perpendicular to the walls 5 into four strips 8a - Sd whose dimensions are such that the part 8 can be "wrapped" around the cross 2 contiguous by marrying the profile. A fifth strip 8e, articulated by a fold line parallel to the previous ones on the contiguous strip 8d, is folded back to come to bear against the internal face of the contiguous wall 7.

Lugs 9, cut from the strip 8e and adjoining the strip 8d, are engaged in cutouts 10 formed in a position corresponding to the base of the walls 7, to lock the parts 8 in the "wrapped" position around the crosspieces 2 and thus secure pallet 1 and container 4.

 The embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 5 comprises two parallel beams 3, but the invention applies to pallets comprising more than two parallel beams, three for example or more. In this case, at each wall 7 are adjoining several parts 8 separated by the intermediate beams, each part 8 being wound around the corresponding portion of the cross member 2 associated.

 In the embodiment of Figure 6, there is a pallet 11, comprising crosspieces 12 and side members 13, here reinforced by transverse elements 14, having the same general structure as the cross members and the side members.

 The container 15, which one wishes to make integral with the pallet 11, comprises, on the one hand, two walls 16 parallel to each other, to which are adjoined by two parallel fold lines two flaps 17 folded against the pallet 11, to form the bottom of the container, and, on the other hand, two walls 18, perpendicular to the walls 16, on which they are articulated by fold lines perpendicular to the flaps 17.

 According to the invention, parts 19 protrude at the base of the walls 18 in the direction of the pallet 11 and are applied against the end of the side members 13. A first flap 20, articulated on the part 19 by a line of folding perpendicular to the bottom, is folded perpendicular to this part 19, below the bottom of the container, and a second flap 21 is articulated on the previous one by a folding line inclined so that it can be erected perpendicular to the flap 20 to engage in a recess in the corresponding reinforcing element 14, so as to lock in the assembled position the pallet and the container.

 In the two embodiments which have just been described, the operations of assembling the pallet and the container are therefore carried out manually, without any tool or accessory, at the very places of use, which constitutes a considerable advantage. of the pallet box according to the invention.

Claims (4)

 1. Quick assembly manual pallet box, comprising a pallet (1, 11) consisting of crosspieces (2, 12) and side members (3, 13) made of a semi-rigid material, such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, arranged perpendicularly to each other and rigidly assembled, and a container (4, 15), also made of a semi-rigid material, such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, this pallet box being characterized in that the container (1, 11) has two parallel walls (7, 18), at the base of each of which projects in the direction of the pallet (1, 15) at least one part (8, 19), capable of being made integral with a crosspiece ( 2) or a spar (3), by winding around the latter or the latter, or by engagement of a portion (21) lateral of these parts (19) projecting judiciously folded in a recess of the cross member (12) or associated beam (13), or an element (14) integral with this cross member or this beam.  2. Pallet box according to claim 1, in which the parts (8) adjoining two parallel walls (7) are wound around two parallel sleepers (2) or side members of the pallet (1), characterized in that lines folding formed in the parts (8) divide them into rectangular strips (8a - 8d), making it possible to conform these parts to the transverse profile of the associated crosspieces (2), lugs (9) adjoining the most distant strip of the adjoining wall (7) being engaged in cutouts (10) formed at the base of the two walls (7), in order to lock the corresponding part (8) in the position wound around the associated crosspiece (2).  3. Pallet box according to claim 2, characterized in that an additional strip 8e, adjoining by a fold line to the strip (86) comprising lugs (10), is applied against the internal face of the wall (7 ) contiguous.  4. Pallet box according to claim 1, in which parts (19) adjoining two parallel walls (18) comprise a part engaged in a recess of a cross member (12), of a spar (13) or of an element (14) integral with this cross member or this spar, characterized in that a first flap (20), attached to each part (19) by a fold line perpendicular to the bottom (17) of the container, is drawn up perpendicularly to this part (19), while a second flap (21), adjoining by a fold line to the first flap (20), is erected perpendicular to the latter and engaged in a recess of the crosspiece (12), of the spar (13) or the associated reinforcing element (14).
