Abstract

The lock carriage assembly has a rack attached driving a brake pinion to control its movement. The electric actuator comprise a box (2) housing an electric motor (3) which is linked to drive a worm screw (5) coupled to an output pinion (4). This is able to rotate a nut (7) through which a screw passes. This in turn moves a carriage through the intermediary of an elastic device (9,11), with a locking lever (12) coupled to the carriage. The carriage is provided with a braking mechanism consisting of a rack (14) which is fixed laterally to the carriage. This engages a brake pinion which serves to reduce the speed of displacement of the carriage and thus minimize the noise of impact at the end of the movement of the locking mechanism.
