Abstract

The invention concerns a device for folding the floats of a trimaran widthways on its central hull, for quickly reducing the span of a trimaran, except when it is using sails, to the span of a monohull of similar length, without decreasing its habitability. The device consists of arm links, made up of tubes of different lengths and mutually articulated at their ends. After putting down the locking rod joint (G) of axes (F and C), the user only has to lift float (H) which will describe by itself a curve (I) and will inevitably settle on the edge of the central hull, without increasing its length. The device is particularly designed for making a trimaran, except when making use of sails, as compact as a monohull while retaining the same habitability.
