Abstract

The device comprises three angled arms (1,2,3) which are located radially around the wheel encompassing the tread (4) of the tyre (5). A chain (6) is located around the tread and fixed to the arms. The arms pivot about a central spindle (7) and slide radially relative to this spindle. Two other parts of the chain (8), located coaxially with the chain on each side of the tread, are also fixed to the arms. The chain parts are fixed in their middle to the central arm and at their ends to the other arms. A torsion spring (9) is located so as to tension the chain parts by acting on the rotation of the arm ends relative to the central arm.
