Abstract

The device includes a cylindrical block (1) fixed (4) to the vehicle floor-plate e.g. under a front seat, which has a vertical bore into which the obstructing leg (5) is lowered (10) till it rests either on the ground or in a prepared recess. A lockable plug (6) within the leg, when depressed, forces down a chisel point (7) that drives two transverse stops (8) sideways into an encircling groove (2) within the cylinder. These stops, immobilising the leg, return under spring pressure (9) when the plug is released, freeing the leg. A pressure switch (11), detecting the presence or absence of the leg, operates a dashboard warning light. Optionally the leg is immobilised by balls displaced radially by a waisted block.

The present invention relates to a theft security device for a motor vehicle
Currently existing theft security systems, codes, alarms etc.

do not have sufficiently effective deterrent effects and the number of stolen cars is constantly increasing. The codes are not very reliable and even the manufacturers recommend in the event that their system is faulty a second or sometimes a third possibility of starting the engine.
It is also often that we hear alarms operate without intervening directly. There are also species of metal rods securing one of the pedals of the vehicle with the steering wheel. These systems are difficult to implement and bulky.

 The device according to the invention makes it possible to reconsider the problem posed by providing a new solution for protection against car theft.

 The device secured to the car is fixed to the floor of the vehicle under any one of the front seats, and thus positioned in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle approximately in the middle of the wheels.

 I1 consists of a fixed part secured to the vehicle and a mobile part. A key controlled mechanism locks the moving part of the device inside the vehicle.  The main axis of this assembly is easily removed from the interior of the vehicle after having moved the seat to free up the space and unlocking the movable part, it is placed in a location provided under the seat.

This configuration allows the normal running of the vehicle.

According to particular embodiments:
- The fixed part of the device will be bolted or welded to the vehicle.

Its location can of course be designed and produced as soon as the car is manufactured.

 - The mobile part will be made integral with the fixed part by a lockable mechanism controlled by key or any other existing system.

 - The mobile part can be extracted, erased or retracted enough to allow normal rolling of the vehicle.

Referring to Figure 2, the device consists of a fixed cylindrical part (1) having a bore inside which is machined a rectangular groove (2)
This fixed part is secured to the floor of the car (3) by means of bolts (4) or else welded to it.

A mobile part (5) passes through the fixed part and slides in its bore. This movable part (5) has at its upper part a lockable device (6) such as a thresher thresher controlled by key and actuates by a translational movement a movable axis (7) having at its lower end a cone of 45 degrees. is in contact in its rest position with cylindrical retaining pistons (8) also having cones at their ends with the same angle. These pistons (8) slide perpendicularly on each side of the movable part (4). A circular spring (9) positioned by a round groove machined around the fixed part (5) brings the retaining pistons (8) into contact with each other. A flexible tongue (10) secured to the fixed part (5) will allow '' easily extract the movable axis (5). An electrical spring plunger contact (11) integral with the fixed part and crossing it in the transverse direction will indicate the state of the device; The information will be materialized by an indicator light on the dashboard.

 The closed position is obtained by pushing down the lockable device controlled by key. This moves the movable axis (7) in the same direction and pushes the retaining pistons (8) into the groove (2). The movable part (5) is therefore made captive of the fixed part (1).

In the embodiment of Figure 3 the groove machined in the fixed part (1) is conical. The mobile part (7) has a diabolo shape such that by pulling it upwards, it can erase retaining balls g) and then allow the extraction of this part of the device. Of course the retaining pistons, the circular spring and the machining on the fixed part do not exist in this form of variant and the assembly is replaced by balls. The rest of the different parts remain unchanged
The device may be available on the market in kit form and installed on vehicles using an assembly procedure including a drilling template. The length of the mobile part will have to adapt to the different vehicles which, of course, have variable ground clearance.

 By way of nonlimiting example, the fixed part will have a diameter of the order of 12 cm and a height of 10 cm, the mobile part a diameter of 5 cm and a length of 25 cm.

 The mobile part (2) can be pulled out and stored under the seat near the mobile part. The opening left by the dismantling of the mobile part will be obstructed by a cover adapted to the diameter, thereby ensuring the watertightness of the passenger compartment
