Abstract

In this packaging, a partition (9) is disposed at an equal distance from the two walls (5, 6) to which it is parallel and is secured to the other two walls (7, 8) by flaps (10, 11), articulated on this partition (9) by fold lines perpendicular to the bottom and glued against these other walls (7, 8). The partition (9) has a height relative to the bottom greater than that of the two walls (5, 6) to which it is parallel, and it comprises, in the part which projects above the parallel walls, an opening (12) forming a gripping handle.

Description

Portable packaging, in semi-material

  rigid such as corrugated cardboard, for various objects,

especially for bottles.

  The present invention relates to portable packaging, made of a material such as corrugated cardboard, for

  various objects, in particular for bottles.

  Many types of corrugated cardboard packaging are known, in particular for bottles, provided with a handle and in which partitions divide the internal volume of the packaging into a number of compartments of identical cross section, in which the bottles can be accommodated ( see, for example, FR-A-2 617 128 and the French patent application

  No. 94.04373, of which the Applicant is the holder).

  These packagings, generally of the suitcase type, usually include relatively complicated partition systems. In addition, they lend themselves

  rarely at the exhibition for sale of conditioned objects.

  The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by providing portable packaging for bottles or other oblong objects of a particularly simple design, in which the conditioned objects can be displayed directly for sale and which can be

  easily handled by a prospective buyer.

  The invention also aims to provide portable packaging of this type which, in one of its embodiments, may constitute part of another packaging of the American box type, separable into

two parts.

  Finally, the invention aims to propose a packaging of this type which can be delivered pre-assembled to users and folded flat before use, in order to facilitate its

storage and handling.

  To this end, the invention relates to portable packaging, in a semi-rigid material such as corrugated cardboard, for various objects, in particular for bottles, of the type comprising: - a container with a substantially rectangular section, comprising a part of bottom and side walls parallel two by two and perpendicular to the bottom, these walls being hinged together and on the bottom parts by fold lines; - inside this container, a partition, parallel to two side walls of the container and defining therewith and optionally with perpendicular auxiliary partitions housing for the packaged objects; this packaging being characterized in that said partition is disposed at equal distance from the two walls to which it is parallel and is secured to the other two walls by shutters, articulated on this partition by fold lines perpendicular to the bottom and laminated against these other walls , in that this partition has a height relative to the bottom greater than that of the two walls to which it is parallel, and in that it comprises, in the part which projects above the walls

  parallel, an opening forming a grip handle.

  The flaps adjoining the partition and glued against the walls which are not parallel to this partition may be disposed respectively on each side of the latter, so as to form with it a foldable Z-shaped profile, in order to facilitate

  folding the packaging flat.

  One of these flaps may be attached by a fold line to one of the walls to which the partition is parallel, the adjoining flaps and the container thus being

  from the same corrugated cardboard blank.

  The bottom of the packaging will be formed in the usual way of flaps articulated by fold lines at the base of the side walls and it may be of any type known in

the technique.

  In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the portable packaging container will form part of an American box, in the side walls of which are provided lines of break points or weakening zones, with possibly wires or tear strips, to allow the transport and storage of bottles or other objects packed in the American box and the separation of the latter into two parts at the point of sale or at the buyer's, one of the two parts constituting the portable container according to the invention, while the other part of the box

American will be scrapped.

  Of course, although mainly intended for bottles, the packaging according to the invention can be used for the transport or the display for sale of many other objects, in particular oblong objects such as metal cans, packaging

aerosols, etc.

  description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings, which have

  We will first refer to Figures 1 to 5.

  The packaging shown is in the form of an American box 1, made of corrugated cardboard, made up of two parts 2 and 3, separable by tearing a strip 4 of break points or a weakening zone, or again by tearing off a wire or strip of material

  plastic incorporated in the corrugated cardboard.

  The American box 1 usually comprises two longitudinal walls 5 and 6 and two transverse walls 7 and 8 hinged together by parallel fold lines, while the bottom and the upper part of the box are constituted by flaps, 5a- 5b, 6a-6b, 7a-7b, 8a-8b, adjoining the associated walls, 5, 6, 7 and 8, by

  fold lines perpendicular to the previous ones.

  According to the invention, a partition 9 is arranged parallel to the longitudinal walls 5, 6, equidistant from the latter. Two flaps 10 and 11, adjoining the partition 9 by fold lines perpendicular to the bottom, are applied and glued respectively against the walls 7 and 8, on either side of the partition 9. In the present case, the flap 11 is attached to the partition 6 by a fold line perpendicular to the bottom, the assembly thus being produced from a single blank of corrugated cardboard, as can be seen in FIG. 5, but the partition 9 and the flaps 10 and 11 attached could as well be independent of the American fund and be made united by it by

  bonding of the shutters against the associated walls.

  The flaps 10 and 11 also include primers for breaking lines 4a, 4b, which are superimposed on the portions of line 4 of the walls 7 and 8 against which they are glued, so as to allow the separation of the parts 2 and 3 of the American box, by tearing these lines

breaking points.

  The partition 9 has a height H relative to the bottom greater than the height hl of the parallel portions of the walls 5 and 6 of the part 2 and the maximum height h2 of the walls 7 and 8, so that after separation of the parts 2 and 3 , this partition 9 projects above all of the walls. In the projecting portion of this partition 9 is formed an opening 12, forming a grip handle, and after separation of the parts 2 and 3, the part 2 thus forms a portable packaging, which can be exhibited at the point of sale with the objects that it contains and be

  easily handled by potential buyers.

  In the case where the packaged objects are bottles or other oblong objects, it is possible, if desired, to make individual compartments for these bottles, by providing intermediate partitions perpendicular to the partition 9, these intermediate partitions being able to be formed , in a manner known per se, either by parts of the walls 5, 6, folded towards the inside of the packaging around fold lines perpendicular to the bottom, or by independent elements, comprising notches perpendicular to the bottom and engaged in notches partitions of partition 9, in the manner

  "braces" known in the art.

  Naturally, 1 a American box may optionally also include a retractable handling handle of a type known per se, formed in one of

its side walls.

  Figure 6, in which the bodies shown in Figure 5 keep the same reference numbers assigned the index 'represents a blank in every point identical to that of Figure 5, with the only difference that the flaps 5'a , 6'a, 7'a and 8'a intended to form the bottom have

  a shape allowing semi-automatic mounting.

  Finally, FIG. 7, in which the members already described with reference to FIG. 5 are designated by the same reference numbers assigned to the index ", represents a blank in every point identical to that of this FIG. 5, but in which the line of breaking leads 4 "is rectilinear and includes a tear-off plastic wire, while the flaps 10" and 11 "are pre-cut to the desired shape.

Claims (4)

Claims   1. Portable packaging, in a semi-rigid material such as corrugated cardboard, for various objects, in particular for bottles, of the type comprising: - a container (2) of substantially rectangular section, comprising a bottom part and side walls ( 5- 8) parallel two by two and perpendicular to the bottom, these walls being hinged together and on the bottom parts by fold lines; - inside this container, a partition (9), parallel to two side walls (5, 6) of the container (2) and defining therewith and optionally with auxiliary partitions perpendicular to the housings for the conditioned objects; this packaging being characterized in that said partition (9) is disposed at equal distance from the two walls (5, 6) to which it is parallel and is secured to the two other walls (7, 8) by flaps (10, 11), articulated on this partition (9) by fold lines perpendicular to the bottom and laminated against these other walls (7, 8), in that this partition (9) has a height relative to the bottom greater than that of the two walls (5 , 6) to which it is parallel, and in that it comprises, in the part which projects above the parallel walls, an opening   (12) forming a grip handle.   2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the flaps (10, 11) adjoining the partition (9) and glued against the non-parallel walls (7, 8) to this partition (9) are disposed respectively of each of sides thereof, so as to form with it a foldable profile   in Z, to facilitate the flat folding of the packaging.   3. Packaging according to one of claims 1 and   2, characterized in that one of the flaps (10, 11) adjoining the partition (9) is articulated by a fold line on one of the walls (5, 6) to which the partition (9) is parallel.   4. Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 4,   characterized in that the container (2) constitutes a part of an American box (1), in the side walls (5-8) in which are formed lines of breaking points or weakening zones, with possibly tears or tapes, to allow separation into   two parts (2, 3) of the American body.
