Abstract

The container, comprising a tray (1) and cover (2) made from a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, has the side walls (5) of the tray cut out and folded to form a series of evenlyspaced tongues (8) projecting inwards from either side to act as supports and spacers for the articles packed in the container. After the container has been filled the cover is fitted to the tray and glued to it along at least one end wall (4), the glued portion (11) having perforated lines for easy separation.

Description

The present invention relates to a packaging body made of a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, for packaging and display for sale of various articles.

It is becoming increasingly common to display for sale objects in the same packaging that was used for their transport. These packages are generally equipped with means capable of holding objects in position, to facilitate their access by potential buyers and to present them in a manner as attractive as possible, each package must therefore be adapted to the packaged articles.

The document US 3,073,440 describes a package intended to prevent the goods arranged inside to move. Another example is disclosed by DE 9 311 191 U .

This is how, in FR 2 669 893 A , the Applicant has described a package having the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped for the packaging of objects arranged head to tail, for example cardboard plates supporting various types of articles in a blister, the objects being arranged perpendicularly to two faces parallel of the package and resting on a third face perpendicular to the preceding, this third face having a fold line or initiation of rupture parallel to the other two walls. Means are provided for dividing the package into two substantially equal parts, able to pivot freely with the objects they contain around the fold line or rupture primer, in order to separate in two distinct batches the previously arranged objects head-to-tail, the two parts, adjacent or possibly separated, thus forming displays for the packaged objects.

In the face of these parts on which the packaged objects rest and which forms the bottom of these displays may be provided tongues pivotally mounted around fold lines and able to be straightened towards the inside of the package to form wedges between conditioned objects.

The present invention also aims to maintain in position in a packaging body of the packaged objects, but with the aid of tabs cut in two parallel walls of this body or in two panels internally doubling these walls, these tabs being pivotally mounted around parallel fold lines at the bottom.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a packaging body made of a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, this body forming a tray for the transport and display for sale of a row of identical articles occupying all the same position, this body comprising a polygonal bottom portion and adjoining side walls by fold lines at this bottom portion and erected perpendicularly thereto, means being provided for locking these walls in the upright position, this package being characterized in that in two parallel side walls or in panels adjoining these walls and internally doubling there are formed tabs articulated on these walls or panels by fold lines parallel to the bottom portion, these tongues being thus adapted to be straightened perpendicularly to these walls or panels to form interleaved elements between the packaged articles or to be engaged in these articles, in order to keep them in position.

The tongues may be pre-cut in the walls or panels considered or consist of blanks limited by lines of breakaway primers in these walls or panels.

This packaging body can advantageously be combined with a lid part, which caps it. In this embodiment of the invention, a portion of at least one wall distinct from those in which tongues are formed may advantageously be glued against a corresponding wall of the cover, this portion being delimited in the associated wall by breakaway primer lines, allowing to manually separate it from the rest of the wall on the exhibition sites on sale to separate the lid of the body of the package.

Advantageously, in this embodiment, the wall of the lid which is glued against this part of the associated wall of the packaging body comprises, above this part, a cutout or indentation for pushing the finger directly from the wall of the body to to separate it without effort from the glued part.

The blank pre-cut and repressed in a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated board from which the packaging body according to the invention is derived is another object of the invention. This blank comprises a polygonal portion intended to form the bottom portion of the package and, adjacent to at least some sides of this polygonal portion by fold lines, panels intended to form walls side of the package, and it is characterized in that, in two panels adjacent to the polygonal portion by two parallel fold lines or in two panels adjacent to the preceding by two fold lines parallel to the latter are formed tabs or tab blanks hinged to the rest of the wall or the associated panel by folding lines parallel to those by which these two panels are hinged to the polygonal portion.

In this blank as in the packaging body, the tabs can be pre-cut in the associated panels or consist of blanks limited in these panels by lines of failure primers.

The invention finally relates to the packaging defined above and containing a row of identical articles occupying all the same position, characterized in that the tabs associated with each of the two parallel walls or each of the panels doubling those they are interposed between the articles packaged or engaged in them.

• The figure 2 is a plan view of the pre-cut corrugated corrugated cardboard blank from which the body of the packaging of the figure 1 ;
• The figure 3 is a plan view of a blank of pre-cut corrugated cardboard and repressed for the realization of another embodiment of this packaging body.

The packaging represented on the figure 1 comprises a container body 1 for transport and display for sale of miscellaneous articles 10, and a lid 2 of a known type, covering the body 1 during the transportation or storage of the packaged articles.

The body 1 here comprises a rectangular portion 3 of bottom, along two parallel sides of which are articulated by fold lines two walls 4 of simple thickness, straightened perpendicular to the part 3, while two other walls 5 are articulated along two other parallel sides of the part 3 and also perpendicularly rectified thereto, these walls 5 being lined internally by a rectangular panel 6, which is hinged at their upper part by a folding line or a double extrusion parallel to the portion 3 and is folded against the wall 5 adjacent to the bottom 3. Flaps 7, adjoining the ends of the walls 5 by folding lines perpendicular to the bottom portion 3, are applied against the inner face of the walls 4 contiguous and glued against it, so as to lock the walls 4 and 5 in the upright position.

According to the invention, tabs 8 are cut in the panels 6 doubling the walls 5 and pivotally mounted relative to these panels around fold lines parallel to the portion 3. In the embodiment shown, these fold lines are confused with those by which the panels 6 are articulated on the associated walls 5, but the fold lines serving as articulation tabs 8 may as well be offset with respect to the upper part of the walls 5, as will be seen below .

As we see on the figure 1 , the tongues 8 are intended to be straightened inside the body 1, to be interposed between the packaged articles, or to penetrate inside them, in order to hold them laterally in the desired position, forming a single row in which they occupy identical positions.

In the case of the drawings, the articles 10 shown comprise a cardboard plate folded on itself and supporting an object 12 in blister, the tabs 8 being engaged between the folded parts and assembled by gluing the cardboard plate.

The cover 2 covering the body 1 can be of any type known per se and, for the transport of packaged articles, at least one of its walls can be glued against a corresponding wall 4 of the body 1. Advantageously, as shown in the drawings, the portion 11 of a wall 4 against which is bonded a cover wall 2 is delimited on this wall 4 by lines of rupture primer which thus allow, on the places of exhibition for sale articles conditioned, manually detach this portion 11 from the rest of the wall 4 and thus separate the lid 2 of the body 1, the portion 11 remaining glued to the inside of the lid 2 as seen on the figure 1 . For to facilitate the separation of the portion 11 from the rest of the wall 4, a notch 13 is provided in the lower part of the corresponding wall of the cover 2, below this portion 11, and it is thus sufficient to exert a pressure of a finger on the wall 4 to separate it from the part 11.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the case where the tabs are cut in panels folded against parallel walls of the body of the package, but these tabs or blanks of such tabs limited by lines of primers of rupture can be formed in parallel walls of the body not doubled by panels folded.

This is what is represented on the figure 3 , where the bodies already described are designated by the same reference numerals assigned index '. In this embodiment, the tongues 8 'are cut in the walls 5' and are articulated thereon by folding lines parallel to the bottom and located at an intermediate level between this bottom and the upper edge of the wall.

Claims (8)

1. Packaging element made of a semirigid material such as board or corrugated board, this element forming a tray (1) for transporting and displaying for sale a row of identical items all occupying the same position therein, this element comprising a polygonal base part (3) and side walls (4, 5) connected by fold lines to this base part (3) and raised at right angles to the latter, means being provided to lock these walls in the raised position, this packaging being characterized in that, in panels (6) connected to, and in contact with, these walls (5) and folded flat against them on the inside, there are tabs (8, 8') hinged to these walls or panels by fold lines parallel to the base part (3), these tabs (8, 8') thus being able to be folded out at right angles to these walls or panels to form separators between the packaged items (10) or to be engaged in these items, in order to hold them in position.
2. Packaging element according to Claim 1, characterized in that the tabs (8, 8') are precut in the parallel walls (5') or in the panels (6) that fold flat against these walls (5).
3. Packaging element according to Claim 1, characterized in that the tabs (8, 8') consist of outlines limited by rupture initiation lines in the parallel walls (5') or in the panels (6) that fold flat against these walls (5).
4. Packaging comprising the element (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 3 and a lid (2) that fits over this element (1), at least one of the walls of which is glued to the corresponding wall (4, 4') of the element (1).
5. Packaging according to Claim 4, characterized in that that part (11, 11') of the wall (4, 4') of the element (1) to which one wall of the lid (2) is glued is limited by rupture initiation lines that enable it to be separated from the rest of the wall (4, 4').
6. Packaging according to Claim 5, characterized in that the wall of the lid (2) comprises, beneath the part (11, 11'), a cutout or notch (13), enabling pressure to be applied by a finger against the wall (4, 4') so as to detach it from the part (11, 11').
7. Precut and scored blank made of a semirigid material such as board or corrugated board, to make a packaging element according to one of Claims 1 to 3, this blank comprising a polygonal part (3, 3') designed to form the base part of the packaging and, connected to at least some of the sides of this polygonal part (3) by fold lines, panels (4, 4'; 5, 5') designed to form side walls for the packaging, this packaging being characterized in that, in two panels (6, 6') connected to the two panels (5, 5') connected to the polygonal part by two parallel fold lines by two fold lines parallel to the previous fold lines, there are tabs (8, 8') or outlines of tabs hinged to the rest of the wall or associated panel by fold lines parallel to the fold lines by which these two panels (5, 5') are hinged to the polygonal part (3, 3').
8. Packaging element according to one of Claims 1 to 3, containing a row of identical items (10) all occupying the same position therein, characterized in that the tabs (8, 8') connected to each of the panels (6, 6') that fold flat against the two parallel walls (5, 5') are interposed between the packaged items or engaged in them.
