Abstract

The box, made from a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, consists of a base (1), side (2) and end (3) walls, and horizontal top flaps (5) to retain the contents. The base and end walls have lengthwise perforations which allow the box to be separated into two halves that can be laid on their sides to display the contents.

Description

The present invention relates to packaging divisible into two parts, in a semi-rigid material such than cardboard or corrugated cardboard. The invention relates to also the use of such packaging for the transport and exhibition for sale of section objects substantially circular, for example of cylindrical boxes comprising a body covered with a cover, in which is housed a cheese, including a camembert.

It is to this application that we will refer more particularly in the remainder of this description, but it will be clear to those skilled in the art that the invention is not limited to this use and that it applies both transport and exhibition for sale others circular objects.

We know that certain cheeses, especially cheeses soft fermented foods such as Camembert, have a consistency which changes during their fermentation and that once started, they tend to "sink" on the trays which support them. This trend manifests itself even when they have not yet been started, inside boxes that contain them, so that when these are laid out flat, the cheese tends to creep toward the periphery of the box and flatten out in the central part of it

This drawback can be remedied when exhibition for sale, making them rest perpendicular to the bottom of the box, according to one or several piles arranged on edge in parallel.

The present invention aims to provide a packaging suitable for flat transport of objects circular section, but which can be divided on the points of sale in two separate displays, in which these objects can be presented on song to buyers potential.

To this end, the first object of the invention is a packaging divisible into two parts, of a material semi-rigid such as corrugated cardboard, this packaging comprising a rectangular or square bottom part, which are contiguous by fold lines, following two parallel sides, first two erect walls perpendicular to the bottom and along two other sides parallel, perpendicular to the previous ones, two seconds walls also erected perpendicular to the bottom, minus a flap attached to each end of the first walls by a fold line perpendicular to the bottom being applied against the second adjoining wall and rendered in solidarity with it, while an entablature says "sidewalk" is also hinged at the top of first walls by a fold line parallel to the bottom, above which it protrudes parallel to it, each entablature comprising at its two ends a leg articulated by a fold line parallel to the bottom and folded against the first contiguous flap of which it is made integral, this packaging being characterized by that the bottom part has at least one line fracture initiators joining the two second walls and extending to the upper edge thereof, so you can split the package in half parties, at the point of sale of the conditioned articles, each part can thus form a display individual, able to rest by the first wall it includes on the shelves for sale packaged items.

On the bottom part, the line of breaking points may be perpendicular to the second walls or have any other form.

The bottom part can also have two lines initiations of rupture both extending to the upper edge of the second walls, so that ability to divide packaging into two displays individual, by tearing the two primer lines of breaking and elimination of the background parts and seconds walls that separate these two lines.

As indicated above, the packaging conforms to the invention was designed more particularly for the transport and exhibition for sale of section items circular and in particular of cylindrical boxes containing cheeses such as pie charts.

The invention therefore also relates to the use of the packaging defined above for the transport of articles with circular cross-section, in particular of cylindrical boxes in which is housed a cheese, in particularly a Camembert, these objects resting in piles parallel on the bottom part of the packaging, and, after dividing the packaging into two parts display stand, for the exhibition for sale of these items, this use being characterized in that, for the exhibition for sale, each part forming a display rests in a manner known per se on its support by the first associated wall of the packaging, the articles supported by their periphery on this first wall.

In the case of cheeses such as pie charts, housed in cylindrical boxes, which may creep laterally during their flat transport in the conditioning, it is thus possible to remedy this disadvantage during their exhibition for sale on stores or hypermarkets, since they are then presented on song to potential buyers.

Advantageously, to avoid that, in this position, items with circular cross-section do not tend to roll on the first wall on which they are supported by their side slice, when some of them have have been taken from the display part, a line of compression will be provided on each internal face of the first walls of the packaging, along the lines of contact of the different stacks of articles with the walls, so as to distort it locally so that they conform to the shape of the articles when they come into contact.

Of course, a package containing articles with circular section, in particular cylindrical boxes in which is housed a cheese, in particular a Camembert, these items lying flat in parallel stacks on the bottom part, with their cross section arranged perpendicular to the first walls, constitutes another object of the invention.

Two embodiments of the packaging according to the invention will be described below in more detail, by way of nonlimiting examples, with reference to the accompanying drawings. In these drawings:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of a first package according to the invention;

Figure 2 is a plan view of the blank of corrugated cardboard, precut and repressed (pre-folded), from which comes the packaging of Figure 1;

Figure 3 is a perspective view of one of the displays resulting from the division into two parts of this first display;

Figures 4 to 6 are views corresponding to Figures 1 to 3, for a second packaging according to the invention.

We will first refer to Figures 1 to 3.

The packaging illustrated by these figures includes a rectangular bottom part, 1, to which are adjoining by fold lines, along its sides longitudinal, first two walls 2, and following its transverse sides, two second walls 3 perpendicular to the previous ones. The walls 2 and 3 are erected perpendicular to the bottom 1.

Shutters 4 adjoining the ends of the walls 2 by a fold line perpendicular to the bottom 1 are applied against the internal face of the walls 3 and rendered integral with these, for example by bonding.

At the top of each wall 2, a entablature 5, called "sidewalk" in the art, articulated on this wall by a fold line parallel to the bottom 1, extends above this bottom, parallel to it.

Legs 6, adjoining the ends of the sidewalks 5 by fold lines parallel to the bottom, are folded down against the flaps 4 and made integral with these, by example by collage. Note that in this form of production, in a manner known per se, of components 7 and 8, adjoining shutters 4 and between them by lines of folding perpendicular to the bottom, are folded so that form a triangular section reinforcement pillar, the flap 8 which is applied against the corresponding wall 2 and being made integral with it, for example by bonding.

In accordance with the invention two straight lines of breaking initiators 9 extend over the bottom, parallel to the walls 2, to the transverse walls 3, on which they extend obliquely at 10, to the upper edge of these.

It is thus possible, by tearing lines 9 and 10 and elimination of the central portions 1a of the bottom 1 and 3a walls 3 between lines 9 and 10, to divide packaging in two separate displays, one of which is shown in figure 3.

We see that this display can be supported on a any medium, for example a hypermarket shelf, by what previously constituted a longitudinal wall 2 of the packaging.

As explained above, the packaging shown in Figure 1 is particularly well suited transporting cylindrical boxes, shown schematically in 11 and containing for example a cheese such as a camembert.

In the packaging, these boxes 11 are stacked at flat on the bottom 1 along two parallel rows of three piles each, the end piles of each row being laterally wedged by the inclined flaps 8, while the sidewalks 5 wedge the upper part of the different Battery.

After packaging division on the premises of sale in two independent displays, just tilt each display so that it rests on its support by the wall 2 and so that the cylindrical boxes 11, instead of lying flat on the bottom 1, take support by their side wall on wall 2 and are erected on edge perpendicular to this wall, as it is desirable for a cheese such as camembert.

Note that, in this position also, the batteries boxes 11 are wedged at their two ends by the sidewalk 5 and by the bottom part, and laterally by the inclined flaps 8.

When a buyer collects one or more boxes 11 in the display, however, there is a risk that the other boxes roll on the wall 2. To remedy this disadvantage, in accordance with the invention, the parts of the walls 2 called to be in contact laterally with the boxes 11 stacked are deformed by compression following bands 12, which follow the shape of the side walls boxes 11 and prevent them from rolling.

Of course, instead of using two sets of lines of initiation of rupture 9 and 10 and of eliminating after tearing of these the bottom and side portions 3a which separate, it would not go beyond the scope of the invention to using a single line of break initiation dividing the bottom 1 and walls 3 in two equal portions.

It will also be noted that two other lines of starting points 13, formed in the bottom 1, bring together in the embodiment shown, the ends of the lines 9 and make it possible to give a pleasant shape to the part 1b of the remaining bottom. in the display shown in Figure 3. We could naturally delete these lines 13.

Stacking studs 14 protrude from the part upper side of the walls 2, above the sidewalks 5, while that cutouts 15 are provided in position corresponding in the bottom 1 and at the base of the walls 2, of so as to be able to stall in a stacked position full packages stacked on top of each other.

The embodiment shown in Figures 4 and 6, on which the bodies already described are designated by the same reference numbers, does not differ from that which has just been described only by constructive details.

In particular, ventilation cutouts 16 are formed in the bottom 1 of the packaging and are combined at the ends of lines 9 of initiations of rupture by other lines 17 of breaking points.

Many other embodiments could naturally be designed by those skilled in the art without going out of the scope of the invention. In particular, the sidewalks and the flaps 4 can occupy inverted positions, that is to say being adjacent to the walls respectively container transverse instead of walls longitudinal, the line or lines of breaking points extending in this case on the bottom between the walls longitudinal and to the upper edge thereof.

Claims (5)

1. Packaging divisible into two parts, of a semi-rigid material such as corrugated cardboard, said packaging comprising a rectangular or square base part (1) adjoined via fold lines, along two parallel sides, by two first walls (2) standing perpendicularly relative to the base and, along two other parallel sides perpendicular to the first, by two second walls (3) likewise standing perpendicularly relative to the base, at least one flap (4) attached to each end of the first walls (2) via a fold line perpendicular to the base being applied against the second contiguous wall (3) and firmly connected therewith, while an entablature (5) or "fascia" is additionally hinged to the upper part of the first walls (2) via a fold line parallel to the base (1), above which it projects in parallel therewith, each entablature (5) comprising at its two ends a tab (6) hinged by a fold line parallel to the base and folded down against the first contiguous flap (4) with which it is firmly connected, this packaging being characterised in that the base part (1) comprises at least one predetermined breaking line (9) connecting the second two walls (3) and extending (at 10) as far as the upper edge thereof, in such a way as to be able to divide the packaging into two parts, at the point of sale of the packaged articles, each part thus being capable of forming an individual display unit capable of resting, via the first wall (2) which it comprises, on sales display shelves for packaged articles.
2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterised in that the base part (1) comprises a plurality of predetermined breaking lines (9) extending (at 10) over the second walls (3) as far as the upper edges thereof, the parts (1a) of the base (1) and (3a) of the second walls (3) situated between these lines (9) being removed upon tearing of said lines, to divide the packaging into two distinct display units.

Packaging according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the inner faces of the first walls (2) comprise deformed strips (12) resulting from local compression of the semi-rigid material, disposed along the lines by which the articles of circular section (11) come into contact laterally with these walls.
4. Use of packaging according to one of claims 1 to 3 for transporting articles of circular section, in particular cylindrical boxes (11) which accommodate cheese, in particular camembert, these articles resting in parallel stacks on the base part (1) of the packaging and, after division of the packaging into two parts forming display units, for sales display of these articles, this use being characterised in that, for sales display, each part forming a display unit rests in a manner known per se on its support provided by the associated first wall (2) of the packaging, the articles (11) resting via their periphery on said first wall.
5. Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 3, containing articles (11) of circular section, in particular cylindrical boxes which accommodate cheese, in particular camembert, these articles (11) resting flat, in parallel stacks, on the base part (1), with their cross sections disposed perpendicularly to the first walls (2).
