Abstract

The awning is made of a rigid, movable panel (5) which rotates at the upper edge of the sidewall (2) of the caravan. It moves between a closed position when it is folded against the wall and an open position when the panel is supported by one or move supporting posts (9). The height of the posts can be adjusted and are fixed to the panel in the open position and removed for closing. The panel is translucent or transparent. Description

 The invention relates to a folding security awning for a caravan or other type of accommodation.

 It is advantageous for a dwelling, in particular mobile caravans or temporary accommodation, to have an awning creating an intermediate space relatively protected from the sun or bad weather, between the exterior and the interior of the dwelling.

 Currently, there are either fixed awnings mounted on the ground, against which the caravan is placed, or flexible awnings of the canvas or awning type.

 We also know awnings forming projections, but which are not foldable.

 Fixed awnings are ill-suited to the mobility vocation of a caravan. In addition, they consume space. Flexible awnings have the disadvantage of being fragile.

The other types of awnings are often simple temporary DIY fixtures.

 The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks by providing an awning combining the advantages of solidity and resistance of fixed awnings with the mobility of flexible awnings.

 Simultaneously, the invention makes it possible to respond to another problem which is to ensure the safety of the caravan against damage and to see it during periods when it is uninhabited.

 To this end, the invention consists of a security awning for a caravan or other type of accommodation, characterized in that it is formed by a rigid panel movable in rotation by one of its edges on the upper edge d 'A facade of the caravan or of the house, this panel being movable between a position pressed against the facade and a deployed position spaced from the face, in which the panel is supported at its edge distant from the facade by at least a support pole.

 The post (s) may be of adjustable height. They can be removably attached to the panel in the deployed position of the awning.

 The panel can be opaque, or alternatively, translucent or transparent.

 Advantageously, the panel is mounted on a support frame articulated in rotation by hinges on a fixed frame integral with the front of the caravan or of the house.

 FIG. 1 represents a caravan (1), of which a front (2), comprising a door (3), is equipped with a security awning according to the invention which is designated in its entirety by the reference (4)., This awning (4) consists of a panel (5) rotatably mounted by one of its edges on the facade (2) of the caravan (1), at the upper edge of this facade.

 More particularly, in the embodiment shown, the panel (5) is mounted on a movable frame (6) articulated, for example by means of hinges (7), on a fixed frame (8) integral with the wall of the facade (2). This embodiment ensures better rigidity of the awning (4). It is understood, however, that the panel (5) could be directly rotatably mounted on the upper edge of the facade 2.

 The awning (4) is movable between a deployed position shown in FIG. 1, in which the panel (5) is moved away from the facade (2), preferably until forming a roof with a slight slope down from hinges (7) and a folded position in which the panel (5) is pressed against the wall of the facade (2), thereby protecting it and preventing its openings.

 In the deployed position, the panel (5) is supported by one or more posts (9), here, three posts.The lower end of the posts (9) may include a plate (10) for support and fixing on the ground. Their upper end can also be fixed to the panel (5), for example by fitting, clipping or screwing an end screw (11) into a nut (12) secured to the outer edge of the panel (5).

 The posts (9) can be of adjustable height, for example by butterfly. In this case, it is possible to modify the inclination of the awning so as to modify the height under the roof and / or the protected floor area.

 In the folded position, the panel (5) is pressed against the front (2) against which it can be locked. For example, in the embodiment shown, the movable frame (6) can be locked against the fixed frame (8), for example by means of a padlock (13).

 Preferably, the shape and the outline of the awning are similar to the shape and the outline of the facade which carries it.

 The panel (5) can be a self-supporting panel made of a metallic or plastic material. If it is mounted on a supporting frame, it can be a simple flat or embossed metal sheet, or a PVC strip. The frames (6) and (8) are advantageously made of standard commercial galvanized tubes, of square section.

 In the embodiment shown, the panel (5) is fixed to the movable frame (6) by bolting or by screws (14) as shown. The fixed frame (8) is mounted on the wall of the facade (2) by means of bolts (15) passing right through this wall.

 The hinges (7) for rotation between the movable frame (6) and the fixed frame (8) are protected by a sealing flap (16) over the entire length of the articulation line.

 This line is preferably located just below a gutter (17) located on the front (2) of the caravan.

 As a variant, the awning (4) can be translucent or transparent, so as to achieve a solarium effect, in particular with also translucent side walls.

 The awning according to the invention has been described mounted on a caravan. It may also be suitable for another type of dwelling, in particular mobile dwellings, but also for fixed dwellings, for example with a view to providing protection for an access opening while constituting an aesthetic advance in the deployed position.

 In general, the security awning according to the invention offers in the deployed position all the advantages of a fixed rigid awning. In addition, a tarpaulin or walls can be attached around its perimeter to create an additional room.

 The awning in the folded position constitutes effective protection by completely condemning the face against which it is pressed. It also occupies almost zero space, facilitating storage and allowing the transport of the caravan.
