It can be a curb in one piece, or in several pieces.

The curb can be used to define a dome and / or illuminate a space through the opening around which the curb is to dispose, and / or to ventilate or ventilate this space or volume, through said opening.

The curb can exclusively include elements or parts fixed thereon, or on the contrary comprises one or more movable elements useful in particular for aeration or controlled ventilation.

The curb that is involved is particularly intended to be arranged on a roof or terrace.

In the field, it is already known curbs intended to overcome an opening and comprising an upright frame adapted to be disposed above a support frame, around this opening.

On such curbs, however, are still to be solved, all or part of the following problems: curb manufacturing conditions, costs, installation conditions around the openings intended to receive them, sealing conditions.

Specific problems may in particular arise in connection with welds to be performed on existing curbs.

Problems of housing possible mechanisms for, where appropriate, the mobile elements of the curb can also arise, since these mechanisms must be protected from the weather.

The invention aims to provide a solution to at least some of the problems mentioned above.

For this purpose, it is first proposed on the curb of the invention that the frame stands on at least part (preferably most) of its height bordering the outside of at least one surface of said support frame, on which the frame rests, this frame comprising for it an inwardly directed flange which covers said surface, thus extending around the opening.

To at least limit the welds and promote watertightness and protection against water it is recommended that the inner rim of the frame connects peripherally to an upright wall peripherally bordering the outside of said surface of the support frame.

In connection with the foregoing, it is further advised that this inner rim connects peripherally to said wall raised by a flap.

Favorably, and for the same reasons, and / or for ease of manufacture and implementation, it is advisable that the upright frame has a vertical section in the form essentially of L-shaped angle whose erected bar borders the outside of said surface support frame and whose lower bar substantially flat covers this surface.

In the lower part, and in a preferred application, the support frame above which the frame is arranged is made of sheet metal or rigid plastic material and is suitable for styling a joint work or building emergence. In this case, the lower part (and thus the aforementioned frame) of the curb will thus edge externally and directly said seal or emergence, leaning on it by its inner edge.

At least part of the curb will define, where appropriate, a windbreak.

If the curb includes one or more movable elements can be applied in particular to the realization of a smoke outlet or aeration of the interior volume of a building.

Another application concerned by a curb with and without mobile element (s), also relates to the realization of a building dome covering the opening around which it is arranged.

Figures 1 and 2, we see a curb 1 according to the prior art, used on a roof or terrace 3, for example to form a lighting dome.

In this example, the curb 1 surrounds an opening 5 made through the roof or terrace 3.

The opening 5 is bordered by a wall 7 belonging to the building.

The wall 7 defines, vis-à-vis the curb 1, a support frame erected above the opening, here on its entire periphery.

The curb 1 comprises in the lower part a frame 9 which stands above the opening 5 and which rests with an outer rim 9a on the top of the wall or support frame 7.

Above its outer support rim 9a which can end with a lower skirt 90, the frame 9 has an inner wall 9b set back from the rim 9a with respect to the outside (EXT) and which stands substantially at the right of the inner wall 7b of the wall 7.

Thus, this frame 9 of the curb has an external volume 11 open to the weather and the outer rim 9a may have sealing defects, particularly at the corners, 9'a in Figure 1, since the angles which, typically , constitute such a frame are, in this place, in general welded together, which requires, moreover, a qualified workforce and appropriate protection for welders.

In the example shown, the frame 9 is surmounted by a structure 13 which bears on it and covers it in the upper part.

The structure 13, covering, here fixed, has a solid upper wall 13a which closes the opening and is extended by a fallen outer edge 13b.

Part 13a may at least partly be transparent if it is desired that the curb 1 defines a lighting dome.

In the example presented, the curb 1 is surrounded externally and remotely by a windbreak frame 17 erected on the roof or terrace 3, to deflect the wind upwards and thus protect the curb and promote its effectiveness.

3 and following, the solutions illustrated are in accordance with the invention.

The emergence 21 is here a wall shaped quadrilateral, slightly protruding on a terrace 25.

The curb 20 comprises, in the upper part, a fixed structure portion 27 which extends across the opening 23 it covers. This covering structure can be transparent or translucent. It may be a horizontal plate (as here) or curved dome-shaped, laterally connected to peripheral erect walls 29 which, down, define a frame 31. This frame is characteristic of the curb of the invention. Not only it overcomes the support wall 21 on which it rests, but surrounds it, thus avoiding all or part of the aforementioned problems: welds of angles, lack of waterproofing, lack of installation (qualification of the staff ...) , costs.

The frame 31 is raised here to its full height bordering, in particular by its wall 35, the outside of the peripheral surface 21a of the support wall.

In the lower part, the frame 31, which may be made with one or more folded sheets, terminates in an inward rim 33 which in particular covers the outer surface 21a of the wall and, more generally, the entire thickness e thereof, at the location of its upper end portion 21b. Thus, the frame 31, and therefore externally in this case the entire curb 20, extends around the opening 23, both the upper edge 21b and the outer surface 21a are protected by a curb which, not overflowing more outwardly as in 9a in Figure 1, further solves including the aforementioned issues of welding and sealing.

The inner rim 33 of the frame may be fixed by any appropriate means (such as rivets or pegs) on the top of the support wall 21, so that its peripheral connection to the upstanding wall 35 borders, like this wall, peripherally the outside the wall, including its outer wall 21a.

In particular, to serve as a gutter and more generally to promote the evacuation of water, not only is the upstanding peripheral wall 35 of the frame vertical or essentially vertical, but also this wall is connected to the inner rim 33 by a lower flap 37 whose internal channel 37a, isolated from the outside, may if necessary constitute a water discharge channel to a drain hole, and even more if a suitable slope has been provided.

As illustrated in FIG. 4, the frame 31 has here a vertical section in the form of an essentially L-shaped angle, the raised bar (35) of which borders the outside of the bearing surface 21b and whose lower bar is substantially flat (33). ) cap this surface to which it can be directly attached and against which it carries here.

The covering elements of the structure 290 here comprise an opening panel 291 movably mounted relative to the frame 310, via drive means 293.

In the illustrated example, the opening means 293 comprise two lateral scissors 293a, 293b in which, on each side, one of the two bars of the scissors is slidably mounted in respective upper longitudinal rails 299a and 299b, respectively in the cover panel 2 91 and on the inner flange 33 of the frame 310 where there is in particular the flap 37 and the projecting outer wall 35. The interior space 312 defined by the same structure L 33, 35 as previously allows to lodge and protect the movable elements of the curb, here the side scissors in their folded state shown fig.7 below.
