Abstract

The marker consists of a housing (1) containing a reflective panel, oblique walls and an upper support (4), connected to a post (5) which allows it to be rotated. A screen forming one wall of the housing is situated in front of the reflective panel to keep it clean, while the oblique walls limit the distance from which the marker can be seen so as not to encourage speeding. The post (5) can be set at an oblique angle on the far side of a roadside ditch. The fact that the marker has no post direction beneath it means that a mower of low height can pass beneath it. ADVANTAGE - More convenient for mowing and easier to keep clean.

DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a retroreflective roadside delineator.

 Retroreflective delineators are traditionally visible from too far away at night, which encourages speed; on the other hand, they get dirty easily by spraying mud, depositing dust; finally they interfere with mowing.

 The present delineator according to the invention overcomes these various drawbacks.

 I1 comprises a box in which the retroreflective plate is fixed on a vertical plane perpendicular to the road and laterally of the walls arranged obliquely to the road, this in order to limit the view of the retroreflective plate only at a small distance from the delineator. This box is connected above or laterally to a support whose shape allows it to descend in order to be fixed in the ground beyond the ditch if there is one, or at the crest of a slope. This support, in one or two parts, allows rotation of the assembly in the event of a push on the housing, and a return to the initial position.

 According to a preferred embodiment, the support can be made up of two parts: the upper part which can receive 1 rotation which is fixed on the lower part fixed to the ground obliquely in order to allow stabilization in the original position by simple weight. This stabilization can be done, or be reinforced by an appropriate device.

 The housing can be made of plastic by injection molding.

 The retro-reflective plate can be removable for washing or not.

 The delineator can be single sided or double sided.

 Figure 1 shows a configuration of the delineator with its support.

 Figure 2 shows a possible embodiment of the double-sided box in plan (2a), elevation (2b), section (2c).

 Figure 3 shows a possible embodiment of the single-sided box.

 Figure 4 shows in plan, the area of the road where we see the delineator.

The delineator shown in Figure 1 includes a housing (1) of about fifteen centimeters in length, an upper rod support (4), threaded into a lower tube support (5) oblique. The housing includes a two-sided retroreflective plate (3), strips (2) on vertical planes, oblique at an angle to the axis of the road. With the delineator housing held higher or laterally, it is possible to pass the mower blades or rotary mowers of low height under the delineator.

The possible rotation relative to the axis of the support fixed to the ground makes it possible to pass the rotary mowers of larger dimensions.

 This rotation makes it possible to bring the delineator back into position either alone by its weight due to the obliquity of the lower support, or manually. An appropriate device (ball) keeps it in a determined position and prevents swaying due to the wind.

 The protection by the housing of the retro-reflective plate makes it possible to limit soiling by projections of mud or deposit of dust.

XEVENDICATTONS  1) Delineator with reduced night visibility distance, allowing easy mowing  and reducing dirt, characterized by a housing (1) containing a plate  retroreflective (3), oblique walls (2), an upper support (4) and a support  lower fixed to the ground (5) allowing rotation of the ensble.  2) Device according to claim (1) characterized in that a screen, formed by the  housing wall. is placed between the road and the retro-reflective plate for the purpose  protect it from splashing dirt  3) Device according to claim (1) characterized in that the oblique walls by  relation to the road axis limits the vision of the plate by the motorist at a distance  reduced from the delineator, thus avoiding incitement to speed.  4) Device according to claim (1) characterized in that the absence of support  under the delineator allows to pass the low height mowing blades under the delineator.  5) Device according to claim (1) characterized in that the upper support allows rotation relative to the lower support.  6) Device according to claims (1) and (5) characterized in that the lower support can be oblique to the vertical.  7) Device according to claims (1), (5) and (6) characterized in that the rotation  of the support allows the device to be brought back into position either alone due to the obliquity of the lower support, or by an agent.
