Abstract

L'invention concerne un sous-marin convertible, capable d'être transformé pour passer d'un mode de propulsion conventionnel à un mode de propulsion nucléaire. Conformément à l'invention, le sous-marin (100) comporte une tranche arrière (T) délimitée par la coque résistante (101) et deux cloisons transversales (216, 217), dans laquelle sont regroupées des installations de production et de stockage d'énergie électrique utilisant des batteries et des diesels-générateurs; la tranche arrière est transformable pour convertir le sous-marin à l'utilisation d'une source anaérobie d'énergie, en substituant à ces installations des installations adaptées à ladite source d'énergie tout en conservant ladite coque résistante et lesdites cloisons, sans que cette substitution interne n'entraîne une modification substantielle du poids et du centrage massique de ladite tranche arrière. Application à la réalisation d'un sous-marin convertible aisément transformable en version nucléaire.
