Abstract

The invention relates to a device allowing a pedal to oscillate in vertical plane and in horizontal plane without measurable play or friction right through the revolution, thus, despite a shoe firmly attached to the pedal, preventing injuries to the joints and ligaments. It consists of a body (1) resting, at its centre of thrust, on a rolling bearing operating in a misaligned way (2) (or a ball joint with balls) allowing, apart from revolution, an oscillation in the vertical and horizontal planes. This freedom about these two axes may be adjusted by simple translation of the cone (4) along the threaded spindle. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for bicycles and other machines transmitting human power via pedals and cranks.
