Abstract

The subject of the invention relates to a self-reinforced fluid-tight functional container device which can be nested and mechanically handled for the transport of food and other products. It is constituted firstly by the combination of their lid 7 with external ribs shaped like prisms and crossed internal ribs forming a reinforcement and a stabilising platform when superimposed under load, and then by their oblique walls 2, 3 and their bottom stand 15, 16, 17, 18 for the passage of lifting forks and finally by the profiling of the peripheries or upper edges of the walls ensuring not only the fluid-tightness of the lockings of the closures of the lids, but also grips for the extraction of unloaded stacks and the tipping of capacities using a goods handling gantry crane for emptying them. By its reinforced metal structure, it allows the use of lifting equipment and handling equipment for stacking by nesting, separation for filling, fluid-tight covering, transporting and emptying by tipping for the transport of all food products, solid or liquid, and more particularly of olives.

Description

 The object of the invention relates to a self-reinforced waterproof functional container device, nestable and mechanically manipulable for the transport of food products and the like.

 It allows by. its reinforced metal structure, the use of elevators and handling equipment for stacking by interlocking, clearance for filling, watertight closure, transport and emptying by tilting for the transport of all food and solid products or liquids and more particularly olives.

 Until now, products such as olives or the like have been used for transporting large synthetic resin drums requiring at least two people for their manual handling and placing on a pallet.

 It was necessary to carry out an average of eighty manipulations to fill a container. The fragility of the materials used led to significant waste and finally the storage areas required immobilization of considerable surfaces resulting from the number of drums. The dangers of handling led to many accidents - considering the weights and the grip difficulties.

 The invention makes it possible to obtain a gain on the costs of sea freight to the fact that the packages are nestable in proportions of up to 180 empty packages instead of twenty full packages, whereas until now the spaces cluttered by drums voids were the same as for full barrels.

 The device according to the invention eliminates these drawbacks and makes it possible to use containers with slightly oblique walls facilitating filling and emptying and with self-reinforced metal structures with watertight covers forming stabilizing load-bearing platforms by immobilizing the feet using the ribs of reinforcement as anchor; moreover their functional shape ensures during storage by nesting a reduced space requirement while the profiles of their forming allow their mechanical handling for their separation from stacking, their sealed closure, their transport by elevator and their emptying by tilting.

 The metal container 1, preferably made of stainless steel, is formed by oblique walls 2, 3 and the like.

 It has crossed reinforcing ribs 4, 5, with intersection 6 slightly below the median axis.

 Its cover 7 is reinforced by incorporated bars 8, 9, 10, 11 in the form of a prism projecting outwards.

 It is also provided under its internal face of two incorporated bars 12, 13 located perpendicularly. The base is provided with a reinforcing band 14.

 The bottom is supported by feet 15, 16, 17, 18 forms a base usable as a pallet facilitating transport by forklifts.

 The cover (fig 6) is closed by blocking by means of a stirrup 19 with pressure screw 21 which causes the cover 7 to be pressed against the edge falling against the shoulder 20 of the oblique walls 2, 3 and the like. A rubber seal is placed on the periphery.

 The upper periphery of the edges are profiled back 20, 20 '(fig 7, 8, 9). these containers are nestable in each other, which allows by an annex system of hooks 22 their stacking or extraction.

 This additional gripping and handling system adapts to the forks of a forklift. It comprises a bar which is placed above the container and which has at its ends gripping hooks in the shape of an "L" 23.

 These hooks when they are lowered by the forklift onto the container 1 automatically move away from the edges thereof by the effect of the tilting frame with profile 23 in a half-moon located under the said hooks. The rounded face was located inside the system, on the same side as the hook.

As soon as the edge has passed, the hooks slide under the edges in a vertical position.

 This half-moon piece 23 is orientable, the rounded side then being able to be located downwards and fold back between the edge of the container to be lifted 20 ′ and that of the container below 20, when these are stacked. It allows by pressure to more easily take out the upper container from the one that contains it.

 This same container is designed to be handled with an annex emptying system (fig 10, 11).

 To this end, the feet of the container 1 can be placed on elements intended to receive them, surrounded on three sides by elements also integral with the feet and intended to contain the container which rests on the support 24.

 The whole can tilt thanks to a gantry 25 which supports the assembly and to a system on either side of toothed wheels 26, 27 and 26 ', 27' and chains 28, 29 driven by a motor 30 to which is attached a reducer 31. This gantry can move on rails.

 One thus obtains a container that is self-resistant to shocks and to the pressures of the products transported with a tight closure and mechanically maneuverable as well for their stackable storage, that is to say by nesting which reduces the dimensions as for their filling, transport or still their complete emptying by tilting.

 This container provides increased staff security and transport facilitated by their self-stabilized stack under load, given their functional cover forming a reinforced and positioning platform.

 Their large capacity makes it possible to process a large weight of goods, ie more than 700 kilos for all food products in liquid or solid form and more particularly olives with their brine or others.

 This mechanical handling result has hitherto not been obtained with the other containers.

 However, the shapes, dimensions and arrangements of the various elements may vary within the limit of the equivalents, as indeed the materials used for their manufacture, without changing the general conception of the invention which has just been described.
