Abstract

The invention relates to a device for the execution of a pedagogical frieze set with movable elements. It comprises means 5, 8, 18 of fixing thematic cards 6 onto the base 18 of a reference card 2 arising from a single sheet of cardboard, after shaping along folds 16, 17, 19, and comprising perforations intended to receive counter-tabs 4, and perforations 8 made for the insertion of the tabs 5 of the thematic cards 6. Moreover, a stud 21 obtained by pressing out a blank in the surface 20 serves as bearing means for the slot 24 of an indicator 22.

The present invention relates to a new device for the execution of an educational frieze game of which it is possible to imagine multiple combinations, the basis of this game based on a principle of concordance of information over time in particular, relating preferably, but not limited to, history and geography.

 The current state of the art does not lack devices allowing the execution of educational or board games. These devices most often take the appearance of bulky supports such as desks, checkerboards or frames whose handling is awkward.

 The present invention relates to a new aspect of these devices, and makes it possible to give the graphic representation of an object, a character, or a monument for example, a greater educational value, in the sense that a student, isolated or in a group, can use his imagination, and thus surprisingly fix his attention during the lesson.

 In addition, the present invention by stimulating the imagination avoids the elementary approach of the only recognition of forms required in certain games, such as the "puzzle", for example.

According to the invention, the device for the execution of an educational frieze game with movable elements, intended to be played preferably in groups made up of master students, based on the principle of the chronological concordance of graphic combinations representing in particular objects , animals, monuments, individuals, or even discoveries, formed of a flat surface defining a continuous band, called a frieze, preferably made of cardboard, on which take place graphic representations, two chronological tables, for example 50 X 30 cm, representing in the form of family trees a division of time, the first from prehistory to the year - 500 BC, the second from the year 1500 AD to the contemporary era , to represent the discoveries and the events having occurred in many countries, allowing in correlation with reference maps and thematic maps to reconcile the eras, places and events, thus creating a comment base, is characterized in that it comprises:
- a set of 25 so-called reference cards, for example 30 X 20.5 cm, forming a continuous strip, provided with means defining a base;
- a set of 75 cards of smaller format, for example 9 X 6 cm, of the playing card type, called thematic cards, combining with the reference cards using fixing means forming an integral part reference maps, and extending thematic maps on the other hand.

According to a preferred embodiment, each of the thematic maps is cut in its lower part so as to constitute two clearances and a tab. The tongue has a constant length for all of the thematic maps, while the clearances have variable lengths, obtained by continuous offset in steps of 0.5 cm such as:
a + b + c = constant = 6cm relation in which, a and b represent the lengths of the clearances of a card, and c is the constant length of the tongue.

 The cuts are made using a single tool, and on boards of ten thematic maps, by simple longitudinal displacement of the boards under a single punch, in a step of 0.5 cm.

 The means of fixing the thematic map forms an integral part of the reference map. Indeed, the latter comes from a single sheet of paper-cardboard which after shaping, cutting, perforating, folding, grooving, and gluing has at its upper part a transverse structure or base whose section has the shape of a right triangle, surmounted by three projecting elements or counter-tongues.

In the initial state, this sheet of paper-cardboard essentially has
- a useful area reserved for the chosen graphic representation,
- a cut out of its upper part forming three counter-tongues of equal length and width, regularly spaced, -
a first row of three perforations in the form of transverse slots, of length equal to that of a regularly spaced counter-tongue, intended according to the invention, to allow passage against the counter-tongues,
- a second row of three perforations in the form of transverse slots, of equal length, regularly spaced, provided for receiving by simple insertion, the tabs of the thematic maps corresponding to the map, of reference Qqnsi-çiéré ?,
- a row of three semi-circular slots, called "thumbs up", regularly spaced, the rectilinear part of which merges with the external part of a fold,
Folding includes
- first of all, two successive transverse folds from the upper part of the reference card, towards the useful face of the latter, at angles
less than 900,
- then, a third and last fold, executed at an angle of 900 in the same direction as the two previous folds, allowing the counter-tongues to engage in. the first row of slots, and protrude at the top of the reference card.

The surface between the first fold and the baseline of the counter-tongues is glued to the homologous part of the illustrated side of the reference card.

 At the end of folding, the "helping hand" cutouts protrude, and the lugs which they feature serve as means of support for an index for locating any thematic map.

 The second row of slots is then found on the rim forming a base at the top of the reference card, to receive the corresponding thematic maps.

 The tongue of thematic maps falling for example, from the same series A is by the play of its clearances, located precisely with respect to the counter-tongue, and hides it when the thematic map has been chosen correctly. Conversely, if an attempt is made to insert a thematic map of a series B, therefore carrying different clearances from those required for the series A, this map will be offset laterally with respect to the counter-tongue and will unmask one part.

 Therefore, the tongue and the counter-tongue cooperate to form a system detecting, if necessary, the inconsistent presence of a thematic map in relation to the chosen series.

 According to the present invention, a series preferably corresponds to a period of 500 years, but can also represent any other notion of division of time or space. Each reference map and each series of three thematic maps correspond to a century.

 Thematic maps blank of any impression, placed in reserve, can be used according to the imagination of the teacher-student group, to inform them manually or by decal for example.

 An index, of any form known per se, can be moved to the upper part of the reference cards, directly above each thematic card, and thus makes it possible to fix the theme of the game part.

 The flat or spherical surface constituting the support of the frieze is of a material such as in particular paper, metal, or fabric.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the preferred embodiment described above, and it is possible to provide alternative embodiments.

 Thus, it goes without saying, although a manual insertion of thematic maps has been shown, that the invention also applies to an automatic distribution system known per se, which introduces, extracts and replaces these same thematic maps in each corresponding slots.

 The principle of concordance on which the execution of the educational frieze game is based is very flexible to use, and allows either to modify each of the thematic maps, taken individually or in series, or to complete and extend by subsequent publications in the field of subjects covered.

 This offers a variety of uses and an application extended to all areas, whether educational or fun.

 Thus, the device which is the subject of the present invention can be obtained by simple, effective and inexpensive means.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows, given by way of nonlimiting example and with reference to the appended drawings in which:
FIG. 1 is an overall perspective view showing a fragment of the device for carrying out the game 1 of the educational frieze, from which a reference card 2 has been detached, associated with the corresponding thematic cards (not shown).

 FIG. 2 is a view on a larger scale, representing on the one hand, the upper part of a reference card 2, shown flat, once cut and perforated, and for reasons of simplification, only one of the three thematic maps 6 associated with it on the other hand.

 Figure 3 shows in perspective, the upper part of the reference card 2? being folded.

FIG. 4 shows on a larger scale the folding carried out in accordance with the invention, forming a base 18, and the correspondence of the dimensions between the two reference and thematic maps, according to relationships such as:

With reference to FIG. 1, we see the reference cards 2, one of which has been highlighted, constituting the device 1.

 With reference to FIG. 2, we see on the reference card 2, a first slot 7, a counter tongue 4, a second slot 8, and dimensions a, b, d, e, f, g characterizing the clearances of a series, a dimension c representing the constant length of a tongue, and consequently of a slot 8 which corresponds to it, and a slot 7 of constant length and equal to that of the tongue 4.

 We also see the cutouts "boost", regularly spaced and located opposite the tabs 4.

 Referring to Figure 3, we see the successive folds 19, 17 and 16 which determine surfaces 13, 14 and 15. The surface 14 constitutes by its external face the upper part of the base 18, and the surface 15 is applied after bonding against the reference card 2, the surface 15 constitutes the oblique part of the base 18.

 With reference to FIG. 4, it can be seen that during the folding operation carried out according to the folds 16, 17, 19, the counter-tongue 4 crosses the reference card 2 thanks to the first slot 7, and then comes to protrude above the base 18, and place itself in a plane parallel to the reference card 3. Still referring to FIG. 4, we see a card 6 being inserted in the second slot 8 of the base 18 of the reference card 2. It can also be seen that the tab 5 of the thematic map 6 is provided with clearances a and b which, in accordance with the invention, characterize the series to which it belongs. This results in a precise positioning of the tongue 5 relative to the counter-tongue 4. As a result, as shown in FIG. 4, the thematic map 6 corresponding well to the reference map 2, completely conceals the counter- tongue 4. When the clearances a and b of the tongue 5 characterize another reference card 2, the thematic map 6 is offset with respect to the counter-tongue 5, and unmasks it partially, thus indicating the inadequacy of the combination carried out. It is therefore impossible to make a thematic map / reference map combination error for a series in question.

 A groove 23 formed on the outer part of each fold facilitates execution. However, this groove is interrupted at each lug 21.

 The chronological tables (not shown), are both in the form of family trees.

 The first table describes the evolution of prehistory from - 70 million years ago, to the historical period. A tree with multiple branches shows the different stages, and the various ramifications. Emphasis is placed on the evolution of animal and human species.

 The second table concerns the historical period and develops until contemporary times. The tree used as illustration takes its roots on an image of the old continent and develops to show the play of alliances, attachments and detachments which made Europe today, to lead to its made in the construction of the European Economic Community (EEC).

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in detail, because many modifications can be made without departing from its scope.

 For example, the thematic maps mentioned above are not necessarily removable, and the invention also applies to the case (not shown in the drawings) or these could be retractable or swappable, in particular, by rotation of a continuous strip passing through the slot 8, and a complementary slot (not shown) arranged in the reference card 2, showing thematic images above the latter.

 With the aid of the device which is the subject of the present invention, the game could, by way of illustration, be executed in at least four different ways.

 - First of all, a pupil is asked to insert on the corresponding reference cards, a certain number of thematic cards which have been given to him, and to specify the reasons for his choice.

 - Then, a group of five to six students, for example, is formed to represent a historical period proposed by the teacher, and has thematic maps relating to it. By associating ideas with the comments made on this period by the teacher, the pupils present the cards which seem to them to correspond. A discussion of this choice can then begin.

 - the teacher can also use the illustrations represented on the frieze to comment on a text as the whole class. illustrates using thematic maps that have been previously distributed, or have been kept in reserve in a draw pile.

 - Finally, on the basis of a theme proposed by the teacher or the pupils, they themselves illustrate blank thematic maps, each of them specializing, for example, over a given century.

Claims  1. Device (1) for the execution of an educational frieze game with movable elements, intended to be played preferably in groups made up of teacher-students, based on the principle of the chronological concordance of graphic combinations representing in particular objects, animals, monuments, individuals, or even discoveries, comprising a flat surface forming a continuous band, called a frieze, preferably made of paper-cardboard, on which take place graphic representations, two chronological tables of, for example , 50 X 30 cm, representing in the form of family trees a division of time, the first since prehistory until the year - 500 before JC, the second from the year 1500 AD until contemporary times, to represent the discoveries and events that have occurred in many countries, allowing in correlation with the reference maps and thematic maps to put in concordance of eras, places and events, thus creating a basis for commentary, characterized in that it includes:  - a set of 25 so-called reference cards (2) preferably made of paper and cardboard, forming a continuous strip;  - a set of 75 cards of smaller format, dJ type playing cards, called thematic cards (6), combining with the reference cards (2) using fixing means (5, 8, 18) making on the one hand an integral part of the reference maps (2), and extending the thematic maps (6) on the other.  - a means of reference (21,22,24) of the time mentioned in the game of educational frieze;  2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the means for fixing the thematic map (6) on the reference map (2) comes from a single sheet of paper-cardboard cut and perforated in its part upper, which after two successive folds at angles less than 900, a fold at an angle of 90, and bonding of the surface (15) between the base line of the cutouts and the first fold (19) - on the homologous surface of the illustrated face of the reference card (2) constitutes a base.  5. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the cutout made at the top of the dezréference card (2) forms against tabs (4), which protrude, after folding, through first perforations in the form of slots (7) which make them vis-à-vis, vertically and in a plane parallel to that of the reference card (2) of which they form an integral part, said cutout further comprising three "thumbs up" perforations defining after folding the lugs.  6. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the base (18) has on its face d slots (8) of a constant length intended to accommodate by insertion the tongue (5) extending in its lower part each of the thematic maps (6), which by the play of its clearances (a, b) will locate it in a precise way in relation to the counter-tongue (4) and will mask it in the event of perfect match, but will unmask it during an attempt insertion, if necessary, of a thematic map (2), the presence of which is inconsistent with the reference map (2) considered, thus achieving a system capable of avoiding errors.  7. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the thematic maps (6) are inserted above the corresponding reference maps (2), each of them representing for each century, a costume, a monument or a discovery, and consistent with the reference map which also corresponds to a period of a century.  8. Device according to claims 2 and 6, characterized in that an automatic distributor, arranged above each of the reference cards, inserts, extracts and replaces the thematic cards (6) in each of the slots (8).  9. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the reference of the time mentioned in the game of educational frieze consists of an index (22) provided with a slot (24) for fixing it on a mayen d 'support (21).  10. Device according to claims 1, 4 and 5, characterized in that the support means 21 is a lug making, during the folding of the upper part of the reference card (2), automatically protruding opposite each against the tabs (4).
