Abstract

The straw is dropped from the end of the harvester down onto the chopper. This has a rotating cutter (3) and a fixed blade (9), with the straw being chopped to a set length. The straw is guided to the chopping position by angled plates (8) each side of the fixed blade. The fixed blade is horizontal and is clamped between the angled guides.
