Abstract

The invention relates to a display container-package for four glasses or similar items arranged in a square. This package consists of a blank made of cardboard or the like which, by folding and gluing, forms a frame and at least one vertical partition 3 parallel to the vertical sides 5, 7 of the frame . Cuttings in the vertical partition and in the end of the blank form tabs 9, 10 which make up, by folding over into the horizontal position, housings for the bottoms of the items. Tongues 14 immobilise the partition 3 in the vertical position. The tabs 9 and 10 may be replaced by vertical flaps which form a second vertical partition perpendicular to the first.

Description

 The invention relates to a display packaging for four articles arranged in a square, foldable flat and consisting of a rectangular blank which, by folding and gluing, forms a packaging frame and one or more internal partitions separating the articles.

 We know in the art a large number of packages made from a blank of cardboard or similar material, having fold lines, cutouts and various means intended to put the blank in volume, through the formation of flaps, tabs, slot and notches, by gluing or stapling.

 he glasses, goblets and similar items are generally sold in display packaging consisting of bolts with a bottom, two large sides and two small sides, the glasses being held in place by flaps and tabs. A cover with or without a transparent window can also be provided.

 It is necessary to develop a completely transparent packaging, that is to say one without a bottom and, in this case, it is necessary to ensure the rigidity of the assembly to provide partitions and stiffening between the different articles. It is of course only possible to add these partitions once the packaging frame has been formed, but this requires additional handling and does not allow automatic manufacture.

 The flat-folding display packaging according to the present invention consists of a single rectangular blank which, by folding and gluing, constitutes a packaging frame surrounding the articles, and one or two internal partitions separating the articles arranged in a square; locking tabs or tabs adjoining the rectangular blank block the partition parallel to the vertical dimensions of the frame to keep it in position when the packaging is deployed.

 According to a variant of the invention, the packaging comprises a single partition constituted by one of the ends of the rectangular blank in which a cutout forms a tongue which folds down in a horizontal plane to form a housing for two articles on one side of the partition, while the other end of the blank is limited to a tongue of the same shape as the tongue cut out from the vertical partition to form a housing on the other side of the partition.

 In a second variant of the invention, the two ends of the plane are symmetrical and are fixed one against the other and also constitute the vertical partition. Cutouts constitute unfixed flaps which pivot in a vertical plane to form a second vertical partition perpendicular to the first.

 A first variant of a display packaging according to the present invention is shown in Figures 1 to 3. This packaging consists of a blank of cardboard or similar material, generally rectangular. If we consider this blank starting from the end 1 located on the right in Figure 3a, it consists of the following elements separated by fold lines: a gluing flap 2, a vertical partition 3, a half 4 of a horizontal side of the frame, a vertical side 5 of the frame, the second horizontal side 6 of the frame, the second vertical side 7 of the frame, the second half 8 of the first horizontal side and a tongue 9 made of three elements 9a, 9b and 9c. These different elements are separated by fold lines lla to lii. A cut in the vertical partition 3 forms a tongue 10, the end 10a of which is folded and glued against the wall 5.

Note that the packaging as shown in Figures 1 and 3a is in the position obtained directly after its manufacture and deployment. I1 will be used in the inverted position when it is stocked with articles, the tongues 9 and 10 being designed so as to hold the bottom or the foot of the articles. -
Cut-outs 12 made in the section 6 constituting the upper horizontal side of the packaging, form tongues which, by folding inside the frame, are housed between the articles, for example between the glass rims, and prevent them to shock each other.

 The sections 5 and 7 constituting the vertical sides of the frame generally have two concave edges constituting the vertical edges of the sections when the frame is deployed, so as to allow a better view of the article contained in the frame and to lighten the appearance of the 'packaging. The edges of the partition which will be in the vertical position are also concave for the same reasons. The upper and lower ends of the concave edges of the partition have a rounded part 15 ending in a groove 16 in which is housed the end 14a of a locking tab 14 when the latter is folded along the line of folding 14c and along the folding line 17 which joins it to the rectangular blank (FIG. 2).

 Figures 3a to 3d illustrate the folding and gluing of the blank. The folding is first carried out along the lines 11h and lib (FIG. 3a) by bringing the sections 9c and 9b on the one hand and 2 and 3 on the other hand above the blank. The folding is then carried out along lines 11f and iid (fig. 3b) by first folding the sections 9a and 8 on the plane (9a and gb then being sandwiched) then the sections 4 and 5 (the sections 2 and 3 then being between sections 6 and 7 and sections 4 and 5). Glue dots 13 have been previously placed at the places where the flaps and bonding parts 2, 9a, 9c and loua will come.

The folded and glued packaging is obtained flat, as shown in Figure 3c. To format it, it is enough to deploy it, which entralne a folding along the lines lla, lic, lle, 11g and lli and a deployment along the folding lines previously used.

 A second variant of a packaging for four articles is shown in FIGS. 4, 5 and 6.

 The figure. represents the development of this pre-display packaging. Starting from the end 1 on the right of FIG. 4 there is: a bonding tab 22, an element 23 which will constitute a part of the vertical partition and in which a flap 24 is cut, a section 25 which will constitute a first half on a horizontal side. of the frame, an element 26 which will constitute a vertical side, an element 27 with adjoining legs 34 which will form the second horizontal side an element 28 which will constitute the second vertical side, the second half 29 of the first horizontal side, an element 30 which will complete the vertical partition and in which a flap 31 is cut, and a bonding tab 32.

 These different elements are separated by fold lines 33a to 33h.

 The element 27 which will constitute the upper horizontal side of the packaging frame (here too, the packaging frame obtained by folding and gluing is not in its direction of use, cf.

Figure 6d) has adjoining legs 34 centered on the line corresponding to the subsequent location of the vertical wall.

 Two cutouts form two rounded tongues 40 which, by folding inside the frame along their rectilinear side, will be inserted between the drinkers of the glasses to prevent them from colliding.

 The vertical sides 26 and 28 have two concave sides, always with the aim of shabby highlighting the articles presented. Likewise, the external vertical edge of the elements 23 and 30 which will together form the partition parallel to the vertical sides is concave. This same outer edge has at the top and bottom a rounded part 15 and a notch 16 in which the corresponding locking tab 34 will be blocked according to the same principle as in the first variant described above.

 The two halves of the lower side of the frame each have a tongue 35 which can be folded inwards which will be placed vertically between the bottoms of the articles. A tongue 36 cut from the flap 24 or 31 remains attached to the elements 25 and 29 respectively and will serve as a bonding tab for half of the horizontal side on the corresponding vertical partition 23 or 30.

 The tongues 35 and 36 have the same shape and the same dimensions because the tongue 35 will come, during the shaping, to be housed in the notch left free in the flap 24 by the cutting of the tongue 36.

 Half 25 carries two tabs 37 which will cooperate with the tabs 38 which the other half 29 carries, the tabs 37 sliding between the vertical partition and the tabs 38 of which l -'- e: ctrémi-38a is blocked in the notch 16 in the partition.

It could also be provided in one piece locking tabs.

 The folding and gluing are carried out as illustrated in FIGS. 6a to 6d. First folded along the fold lines 33c and 33 by bringing the sections 22, 23 and 24, and 25 on the one hand and the sections 32 and 30 and 31 on the other hand above the sections 26 and 27 and sections 29 and 28 respectively. Then folded along the line 33e to fold the sections 28 and 29 above the sections 27 and 26. Glue dots 39 allow the fixing of the different strips or gluing tabs. The shaping gives a vertical partition frame (fig. Bd) and the pivoting of the flaps 24 and 31 around their vertical axis comes to form a second vertical partition perpendicular to the first.

 Each article is thus surrounded on three sides. This arrangement is particularly advantageous when the articles are in color or decorated, because they then stand out against a plain, white or colored background, which highlights them.

 In the two variants described above, it is of course possible to add one or more wrapping or safety belts. Such wrapping is for example made with a link, as shown by the link bed in Figure 5. This link can be made of plastic. One can also provide a polyethylene strip completely closing the open sides of the frame.

 Of course, modifications and variants are also possible within the scope of the appended claims.

Claims (3)

 1. Display packaging for glasses and similar articles, arranged in a square, foldable flat and consisting of a single blank of generally rectangular shape which, by folding and gluing, forms a packaging frame, characterized in that is also formed, from the same blank, at least one vertical partition (3, 23, 30), parallel to the vertical sides of the frame, and that the blank carries adjoining locking tabs coming to block the partition in vertical position during deployment packaging made flat.  ~~ 2, Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the vertical partition (3) is constituted by one end of the blank and comprises a cutout forming a tongue (9) which folds down inside the frame to form a housing blocking the bottom of the articles on one side of the partition (3)} the other end of the blank being limited to a tongue (10) of the same general shape as the tongue (9), to form a blocking housing the bottoms of the articles on the other side of the partition.  3. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the vertical partition consists of two elements (23, 30) and that a second vertical partition, perpendicular to the vertical sides of the frame, is formed by flaps (34, 30) enus by cutting and folding the complementary part of the elements (23, 30) constituting the vertical partition parallel to the vertical cavities of the frame.
