Abstract

The coping element for the top of corrugated roofs consisting of e.g. tiles or corrugated sheeting comprises a pref. plastics channel (6) which has an inverted U-shaped cross-section. Two lateral flanges (7,8) extend from the channel as the diverging branches of an inverted V and subtend an angle (9) which is equal to the apex angle of the roof. Each flange (7,8) is corrugated to receive the undulations of the roof on installation. Each corrugation has a flat sided boss (12) extending from its upper surface. These bosses have an array of holes (14) formed in it to ventilate the roof space.

Description

The present invention relates to a roof ridge closure.

The roofs of the houses are terminated by a ridge composed of fattières joined to each other by a sealing mortar. This process has certain drawbacks. On the one hand, drips cause soiling which does not disappear thereafter. On the other hand, due to the frame movements, cracks appear in the sealing mortar causing large siphons by siphoning.

In addition, in the case of a roof made of prefabricated elements, it is generally not possible to aesthetically cover said elements.

The object of the present invention is to carry out a mortarless felling using a device called a shutter, which ensures perfect sealing and is easy to mount on any roof.

A device according to the invention, for making a roof ridge without mortar, is constituted by a fence and characterized in that this shutter is a profile which has on each side of the central part in the shape of an inverted U, bearing on the last row roofing material, a corrugated wing supported on at least the last beam of the frame.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, the shutter has a shape such that it can be adapted to any roof or prefabricated roof elements, the shape and slope of which it conforms to and which ensures good sealing.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, each shutter is made up of several identical elements which overlap each other.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, two wings on either side of the central part ensure good sealing by covering the covering material used.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, the shutter is fixed on the roofing material, the frame or the framework of the roof by bolting.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, the closure has holes located on the central part to ensure good ventilation of the roofing and to avoid condensation; by their arrangement on the boss of a vertical face, one avoids their obturation.

According to another characteristic of the invention, in certain cases of use of prefabricated roofing elements, materials such as roof tiles can overlap for aesthetic reasons.

According to another characteristic of the invention, these materials can be fixed to the shutter by gluing at a longitudinal stiffening groove in the central part of the shutter.

The appended drawings given by way of nonlimiting examples will allow a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention.

There is shown in Figure 2 the schematic overview of a roof. Covering is ensured in the known manner by juxtaposition of prefabricated corrugated plates (1) placed and screwed onto the frame. These plates can be made of materials such as fiber cement or asbestos cement. We know that, in this case, the bolting on the frame is ensured by screws or lag screws (2) crossing the convex back of the corrugations of the plates (i).

At its top, the frame may include a furring fur (3), which is known to be necessary for a roof covered with tiles, while its presence is optional if the roof is covered with corrugated plates (? ) of the kind illustrated in FIG. 2.

The invention relates to a fathom closure (4) intended to ensure the tightness of the felling, whether it is a roof covered with corrugated plates (i) - Figures 2 and 3 - or a roof covered with round tiles or Roman tiles (5) - figure 4
The fatting shutter (4) is made in one piece of plastic, for example by thermoforming a sheet. it comprises a longitudinal part (6) having the shape of a U-shaped gutter open downwards, and two lateral wings (7) and (8) which diverge in V downwards, according to an opening angle (9) substantially corresponding to the angle of slope delimited between two planes of the roof, on either side of the line of haulage, materialized or not by the fur (3).

Each of the two wings (7) and (8) is corrugated in the longitudinal direction of the closure (4), so as to allow them to match the shape of the corrugated plates (1) or channel tiles (5).

The convex back of the longitudinal part (6) has in its middle a stiffening groove (10) extending over its entire length. Cross stiffening ribs (ii) are provided from far to far.

On each lateral face, the longitudinal part has bosses (12) distributed over its length, each of them having a substantially vertical face (t3) and pierced with ventilation holes (14).

Due to its one-piece manufacture by forming from a plastic sheet, the entire shutter (4) has a certain flexibility which makes it possible to deform it and in particular to vary the angle (9) to adapt it exactly to the slope of the roof.

The operation is as follows
In the case of a roof covered with corrugated sheets (1) - Figures 2 and 3 - several shutters (4) are placed end to end along the line of haulage, each covering the next over a short length to ensure the continuity. In doing so, each of the corrugated wings (7) and (8) is applied to the top of the corresponding corrugated plates (1), and this on the outer face of the latter. The fixing is ensured by the usual lag bolts (2), to which the wings (7) and (8) are made to pass. Then, it is enough to place on the back of the longitudinal central part () tiles-channel (15) of known type which overlap. The fixing of these tiles (15) can be ensured by simple bonding on the back of the longitudinal part (6). Covered but not blocked by the tiles (15), the holes (14) provide ventilation for the roofing. The sealing of the waxing is now ensured.

On the other hand, for aesthetic reasons, the invention makes it possible to complete the roof by giving it the appearance of a tiled roof. For this, it is sufficient to place on the back of the corrugations of the plates (1) rows of round tiles (5) whose convexity is turned upwards (FIG. 3). These rows of tiles (5) are raised up until the bending, that is to say until the lateral wings (7) and (8) of the shutter (4) are also covered.

In the case of a roof covered in the traditional way, entirely with round tiles (figure 4), we start with u7 tapping on the battens of the frame a lower set of round tiles (16) whose concavity is turned upwards . Then, the fatting is capped using the shutter (4), the upper set of round tiles (5) is put in place, the convexity of which is turned upwards. Thus, it can be seen that each of the corrugated wings (7) and (8) of each fatting shutter (4) is taken between the lower assembly of the concave tiles (16) and the set of convex tiles (5). As before, the sealing is completed by fixing tiles (15) overlapping each other along the back of the longitudinal part (6) with glue or cement.

It can be seen that the shutter according to the invention can be used in all cases, whether or not the frame includes a furring fur (3).
