Abstract

The safety helmet can be folded up for transporting it and is made in standard sizes. It consists of segments of a sphere that pivot round axles on each side of the helmet or at the front and back. Description

 The present invention relates to helmets for all protective uses, their transport and storage.

In the devices known to date helmets, in their different uses: war, construction sites, mine mountaineering, speleology and especially 2-wheeled vehicles, have the serious drawback of their size, when not in use. Their substantially equal height, length and width do not allow them to be stored easily, in particular in a briefcase or bag, and the risk of loss, by accidental deterioration or theft, is great, if left as it is, for example on a 2-wheeled vehicle.

 The helmet according to the invention makes it possible to avoid these drawbacks. It is indeed foldable and, present after use, one of its dimensions reduced by approximately 5 / 6th, another of its dimensions being reduced by half. It can therefore be easily stored in a briefcase, a satchel or a case.

 It essentially consists of more or less endorsed sphere segments, pivoting around 2 poles and fitted with a safety block in the open position for use. The poles consist of substantially round, flat elements and connected by an axis in a removable manner or not.

 In the closed position, the segments fold over each other (they can be from 3 to more than 10, this number will generally be odd and close to 5). The front element can be transparent and act as a spectacle or visor, another can in certain cases act as a chin guard.

 In addition to storage in a case, a simple support provided for this purpose, and which may include a lock with key (lock or strike on the saddle or helmet side), in particular in the case of two-wheeled vehicles, naturally finds its place, under or around and behind the saddle.  The flexible part of the helmet can fold independently and even perpendicular to that of the rigid part. The folds then squaring.
