Abstract

The bellows is constructed in similar format to conventional manually operated bellows, with a long tapered stainless steel tube and gripping handles at opposite ends of an enlarged chamber. Wire hoops with a flexible covering allow manual assistance but the main effort is provided by a fan, driven by an electric motor, which draws air through a grill on the face of the bellows, and directs it down the tapered tube to be applied to the fire. An electric cable is brought through the case and clamped by a block forming a support for the bellows. The electric motor can be chosen to permit either ac mains or battery operation.
