Abstract

The lightweight panel is of a composite metal and glass, is for incorporation in walls or ceilings and provides for thermo- accoustic insulation. It uses a rigid metal frame (1) to contain glass or rock wool (12), clad with glass fibre fabric (10). The frame may be rectangular and may be of a channel section flanges- in. Construction may entail cladding the base (10), the sides (15,16) and the top face borders (17,18) in one glass fabric piece secured by adhesives or clips. Filling (12) is now placed, followed by cover cladding (14) which may be demountable. The filling may be powdery, fibrous, granular, rigid, laminated or in one piece.

Description

 The object of the invention relates to a light, functional slab device for construction.

 It is intended for making ceilings, wall panels, movable partitions and fire partitions, in order to provide thermal and sound insulation with an additional decorative effect.

There are many slab devices which generally consist either of rigid thin surfaces of noncombustible materials molded under pressure, or of light semi-rigid slabs of glass wool or rock lane.

These materials with regard to rigid slabs are of relatively high weight, their soundproofing power is reduced due to their density, moreover they degrade rapidly. On the other hand, the glass wool tiles are very light, but are also fragile, difficult to fix and generate glass dust. These additional coatings are not decorative.

 The device according to the invention eliminates these drawbacks and makes it possible to obtain a structured, solid and light element, having maximum thermal and sound insulation, with the elimination of any emission of dust, moreover this arrangement makes it possible to adapt any appropriate decorative effect. to the entire coating.

 It consists of the combination of a rigid metallic hoop and support frame with internal filling of glass wool @ with a glass fabric that envelops the whole exterior.

The frame is of regular geometric shape, preferably slightly parallelepipedic, but may have any other section.

it is made up of beams 1, 2 and cross members 3, 4 in a U-shaped profile, so as to form a peripheral strapping with internal arOtes 5, 6, fig 2.

 This frame whose profile is oriented towards the internal part may be in one piece.

 It can also include in FIG. 3 a movable wall 7 which can be clipable 8. 9, for introducing a material in a preformed and rigid plate.

 One of the sides of the frame is covered with Pig 4 by an enveloping glass cloth 10.

 A capacity 11 is thus obtained which is filled with insulating and soundproof glass wool or rock wool 12.

The acoustic correction is increased and improved by the successive layers of fabrics and greenhouse wool.

This material can be used for all types of industrial or residential construction. Wall panels, mobile or fixed partitions, firewalls can be made with ceilings.

 These applications are more particularly suitable for hospitals, clinics, computer rooms, shipbuilding, ect ...

 We can juxtapose and superimpose these elements which are fixed by all stabilization systems in use and current.

 By the combination of metal frames and trim materials, these elements can be load-bearing and usable for the structuring of the construction parts for which they are used.

 The lining of glass wool or various loose or powdery materials can be altered with insulating plates, such as asbestos plates or other rigid substances.

It is even possible to introduce rigid linings of synthetic resins, natural or vegetable or mineral resins, into the supporting frame, in the form of plates or slabs which will be encircled by the frame, which will facilitate their stabilization, as well as their fixing or assembly.

This is why the shapes, dimensions and arrangements of the various elements may vary within the limit of the equivalents as well as the materials used for their manufacture, without changing the general conception of the invention which has just been described.

Claims (5)

 1 Light, functional slab device for construction intended for making ceilings, wall panels, movable partitions, fire partitions, in order to ensure thermal and sound insulation with accessory decorative effect characterized by the combination of a rigid metal hoop frame with an externally enveloping glass cloth retaining a glass wool or rock wool lining placed inside the assembly forming a waterproof capacity. 2 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the metal frame of preferably rectangular shape is constituted by a metal U-shaped profile, with carrier edges oriented inward.  3 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the metal frame is wrapped by a bent glass cloth and counter-bent with gluing and olipsage to form a box with an open face.  4 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the capacity formed by the frame and the glass cloth is filled with glass wool and then closed by a glass fabric surface t tight frame.  50 Device according to claim 1 characterized in that a face of the frame is removable and clip-on.  60 Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the combination of the rigid frame and the covering fabric stabilizes the pulverulent, fibrous, granular linings or rigid linings, lamellar or formed from single-seat masses which can also be used separately or together.
