Abstract

The halter consists of a belt with a loose central ring. This has a chain and is fixed to the floor. One end of the belt has a rectangular loop, permanently fixed in position. The free end of the belt (1) has a second loop (6) and passes around the sow before being inserted into a double buckle. This latter comprises two rectangular rings, one (12) over the other (11). The belt is threaded through (2) and then passes through the first loop. The belt is returned (5) on itself and its loop locked into the double buckle.

Description

The present invention relates to an adjustable fastener intended, more particularly, for fastening breeding sows in their cages. The current technique of pig breeding has evolved a lot and breeders often prefer the solution of the sow attached to the blocked sow, because the cost of the cage is lower and cleaning is easier.

 For this purpose, a fastener is used which encloses the sow's body just behind the forelegs and which passes through the triangular ring of a chain, the lower part of which is anchored to the ground. The actual strap is generally constituted by a nylon belt t @ rcés de @rous allowing the ardillen of the English buckle which is fixed at one of its ends to come to position there. These holes considerably weaken the resistance of the belt and these must be reinforced either with eyelets or with a strip of leather or leatherette.

 As these attachments are intended for both large and small sows, it is necessary to provide a relatively large adjustment area on the belt and there is therefore, a more or less long end to exceed the English loop. This free end of the belt is conventionally held on the strap by a movable loop, but it turns out to be difficult to use and does not in fact provide effective support, breeders use it little and badly. However, it is very important that the end of the strap is securely locked, because otherwise, the sows next to each other in their cages end up catching the ends of the straps, playing with them and damaging them.

The sows for sows currently on the market are therefore often put out of use after a fairly short period of time.

The main object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback, and for this purpose it relates to a fastener which is essentially characterized in that it consists of a strap on which a buckle is slidably mounted, the locking member is a movable metal ring attached to one end of the strap, said loop being designed to simultaneously lock the strand of belt on which it is
sliding climb and the strand formed by the free end of the courtyard

We can easily understand that, once the ring has passed through the
loop, it is easy to slide the assembly according to the size of
the sow and there is nothing left to go beyond the loop. Due to the
removing holes, the strap retains all its rosi stance.

Preferably, the sliding loop is made from wire
welded round, but it can be made of sheet metal or plastic.

 The loop, blocking member, is also made of welded round wire: but it can be replaced by an axis.

An embodiment of the invention is described below by way of example with reference to the attached drawing in which:

 Referring first to FIG. 1, it can be seen that the fastener according to the invention essentially consists of a strap (1), for example made of nylon or leather, on which a buckle is mounted sliding (2) which will be described in more detail below. N one of the ends (3) of the strap (l) is fixed by sewing, welding, riveting or any other suitable means, a welded metal ring (4) the shape of which can be rectangular or square, which has the imperative to have a section such that the metal ring (G) can pass even across it with free unit (5) of the strap. This ring (6) is fixed to the other end of the strap by the same means as that used for fixing the other ring.

 The strap is intended to enclose the body of the sow behind the inner members and must be firmly fixed to the ground in order to be able to immobilize said sow effectively. For this purpose, the strap (i) is threaded in a delta quick link (7) or a shackle or a snap hook, making it possible to connect the strap to any one of the links of a chain (8) ends is fixed to the ground (9) by means of an anchor block (10) which can also be a plate fixed by two screws.

It is easy to understand that in this way it is possible to adjust very easily
The useful length of the canine (8) depending on the height of the sow.

 Referring to Figures 2 and 3, we can see that the sliding loop (2) has a shape such that the strap (1) is blocked by friction on the son of said loop and pr through the organ ring of hloeage, the more the sow pulls, the more efficient the screening.

The sliding loop (2) is made here from wires that are welded.

The ring (6) is a rectangular frame which can be for manufacturing convenience identical to the frame (12) and whose internal length is slightly greater than. the width of the strap (1). it can be replaced by a simple axis or an open U-shaped ring, but this solution has the disadvantage of seeing these elements go astray. The end (5) of the strap with the ring (6) engages in the loop (2) between the frame (ii) and the pad (12).

 This loop has the particularity of being able to tighten simultaneously and in any place, the main strand (1) of the strap on which it is slidably mounted and the end (5) with the ring (6) blocking member. The main strand of the strap (l) free cross have the loop as shown in Figure'3 passing through the frame (ii) then over the frame (12) and ironing in the frame (11) while the end (5) is passed with its ring (6-) first in ring (4) then brought back to be introduced into the loop (2) by passing this ring possibly crosswise. The advantage of an open ring or its replacement by an axis is to facilitate the introduction of the end (5) of the strap into the loop (2) but there is the risk of loss. Once the insertion of the ring (6) has been made in the loop (2), there is only to slide the assembly to obtain the desired tightening around the body of the sow. The jamming of the strap (5) with (6) in the loop (2) then fixes the strap (1) in said loop and the two strap strands become, so to speak, integral. Loosening this loop is very easy.

 The fastener according to the invention therefore makes it possible ultimately to block the ring (6) in the loop (2) and that the tension of the strap by pulling the sow only increases the contact pressure of the different elements between them.

 it goes without saying that such a strap could be used for other uses, for example to tie animals other than sows or more simply to tie people or objects

Adjustable fastener, in particular for tying animals such as sows, characterized in that it consists of a strap on which a loop is slidably mounted, the locking member of which is a movable metal ring fixed to one of the ends of the strap , after having passed it through another metal ring fixed to the other end of the strap, said loop being designed to lock in the desired position the strand of the strap on which it is slidably mounted with the free end of the strap ended with a ring.  2. Fastener according to claim 1 characterized in that the sliding loop is made from round son.  3. Fastener according to claim 2 characterized in that the ring, blocking member, is made of welded round wire.
