Abstract

The rule for measuring distances in the game of bowls consists of at least two telescopic tubes (1,2,3) which can be locked in the position wanted. They are locked by a threaded slightly conical sleeve (4) with axial slits (4c) and a corresponding locking nut (5). Opposite the slit part of the sleeve there is a collar (4b), smaller in diameter, which engages in the extremity of the larger tube and is fixed by soldering or brazing. This collar forms a stop for a flange (1a,2a) at the extremity of the smaller tube, stopping it being disengaged accidentally.
