Abstract

The turbocharger transforms the reciprocating motion of an internal combustion engine into a rotational motion. It comprises a rotor (5) rotating in a slide (6) which reciprocates in a slide box (8). The box slides in a casing (12) under the action of reciprocating motion derived from an engine. The eccentric shaft end (4) locates in a fixed end bearing plate. The effect of the movement of the slide (6) creates a pressure or depression. The compressed air can be used to turbocharge the engine. The bore and rotor have a dia. which is the max. size compatible with the slide.
