Abstract
The engine housing (31) is of square cross section with rounded corners. The outer surface is semi-circular in longitudinal section. The pistons (10) are semi-circular section in the longitudinal direction and curved in the plane of rotation. Each piston has a lug (15) attached by a pivot (13) to the rotor (9) on the shaft (7). As each piston passes the inlet (1) it draws in fuel and air until it reaches position (B). From (B) to (C) the charge is compressed and then ignited by the sparking plug (2). Expansion occurs between (C) and (D) until the exhaust valve (3) is uncovered. The exhaust strike occurs between (D) and (E) and the cycle is repeated from (F) to (A).
