Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease an axial force, that is a mechanical friction force, by separating the source of generation of an excessively large axial force caused by the internal pressure of the cylinder in a scroll type hydraulic device, into the expansion space and compression space and making the action points of both forces coincide with each other.
CONSTITUTION: When high pressure gas is introducd from an inlet hole 18, the movable scroll 12 is turned through expansion work produced by the high pressure gas in a gas-tight space 19 which is formed by each lap 11a, 12b consisting of each involute curve respectively belonging to a stationary scroll 11 and a movable scroll 12. The shaft 14 starts its rotation, being energized by the rotary motion of this movable scroll 12 via a crank portion 15, further transmitting this rotation to another movable scroll 24 belonging to a compression unit provided on the other end of shaft 14. The low pressure gas sucked from an intake pipe 28 is compressed in the gas-tight space 25 through the above constitution and discharged from an ejection hole 27. Then, the thrust generated in the expansion space and another thrust generated in the compression space can compensate each other, resulting in reduction of mechanical friction loss.
