Abstract

The drain water collecting and pumping system serves rooms below the level of the main sewer. It includes an antechamber (8) pref. covered by an inlet grille (15), and into which the drain water discharges. There is a pumping chamber (1). This chamber is connected to the antechamber by an overflow port (10), the pump being connected to the sewer by a pressure pipe. The overflow port incorporates a siphon (13, 14) forming an odour trap shutting off the pump chamber from the environment.
