Abstract

The head comprises a flanged ring (1), its bore (5) threaded at the top for attaching to the cap screwing unit (2, 3). The remainder (4) of this bore, below the threaded part, tapers slightly outwards, its edge being radiused. This edge is rebated to provide four axial projections (6), each of the latter being screw threaded. Each screw has a blind hole along its axis, starting at the point. A spring-loaded ball (8, 9) is locked into each hole, their combined operation straightening up and partly screwing the cap, before final tightening by the taper.
