Abstract

The solar energy collector comprises a panel in the shape of a flattened sphere, supported on legs (15). The panel is of double-walled construction (11, 12), with a gap of approx. 5 mm. The outer wall is black. The panel is positioned over a reflective surface (5), forming part of the base (2); this surface is vertical at the end facing the sum. A transparent cover (10) encloses the unit and the heat conducting liquid enters underneath (3') and is discharged at the top (4'). Ribs between the walls provide channels for directing the flow of conductive liquid.
