Abstract
The transparent surface of a solar energy collector is dome shaped. It is separated by an air layer connected to an expansion vessel, from a dome shaped absorbent surface. This surface acts as the wall of a water tank. Cold water enters the tank through its base and the heated water leaves via an outlet near the top of the dome. To allow collection of the slanting rays of the sun in the area of the black dome in shade, the inside surface of the transparent cap is aluminised in that area to reflect the rays. Arrangement ensures that the sun's rays always strike some of the surface at 90 degrees so obtaining max. isolation intensity. For collection of the sun's energy.
