Abstract

The unit has a casing (3) with a transparent cover (1). There is a solar radiation absorber (2) beneath the cover, two water reservoirs (4, 5) embedded in insulating material. The two reservoirs are formed from tubes bent and welded into rectangles. They hold the reserve of domestic hot water and are connected in series with the cold entry to one of them and the hot draw off from the other. A pump within the unit circulates a heat transfer fluid between the absorber (2) and a coil within one of the reservoirs.
