Abstract

A tube (2) carrying a thermal transfer liquid runs in series through the edge s of a number of collector panels (1). Each panel absorbs solar radiation energy and is in thermal contact with the tube. The panels are arranged like the blades of a shutter and each can pivot about the tube. A bar at the edge of the panel opposite the tube is attached to a common transverse lever (3). Movement of this lever swings all the panels together. The collector can be fixed on any existing face of a building and the panels swivelled to be perpendicular to the sun's rays.
