Abstract
The panel is used to collect solar energy for heating water. It comprises a flat heating element (2) fixed to the roof (1, 4) and insulated underneath. This is enclosed inside a transparent plastic cover (3) having a triangular shape. The side of the cover facing the sun is 1.5 to 5 times longer than the side in shadow. Inside the peak of the cover is a reflector panel (5), situated behind the solar panel. This reflector is pivoted at the base and is adjustable over a range of inclination from approx. vertical downwards, to enable the sun's rays to be directed onto the panel.
