Abstract
The reflector heats a vessel placed at the focal point of a concave parabolic mirror concentrating the sun's rays. It keeps the focal point stationary and the vessel (4) at this point (5) while the mirror (1) is adjusted about horizontal and vertical axes, and a guard (7) is provided round the focal point. Typically the axes can be arranged to intersect at the focal point. The focal length is equal to one-quarter of the mirror diameter at the level of the horizontal axis.
