Abstract
Solar energy collector appts. is used to heat a fluid flowing through it. The appts. has a primary reflector having an elongated concave upper reflective surface for receiving rays from the sun and a secondary reflector having an elongated concave lower reflective surface for receiving rays from the sun reflected from the upper reflective surface of the primary reflector. The reflected rays are concentrated on the lower reflective surface of the secondary reflector, the lower reflective surface has a substantially reduced reflective area from the upper reflective surface of the primary reflector. Means are provided for mounting the secondary reflector above the primary reflector with elongated axis of both reflector surfaces being parallel. Conduit means are stationarily mounted parallel to the elongated axis of the primary reflector. This conduit means receives the sun's rays which are further concentrated and reflected by the lower reflective surface of the secondary reflector. A means is provided for pivoting the primary reflector and the secondary reflector about the conduit means. Control means sense the rays of the sun and adjust the pivoting means accordingly for the sun's rays to be reflected onto the conduit means as the sun's rays change direction.
