Abstract
The solar radiation conversion system used to obtain power from the sun has a cylindrical heat collector (11) mounted on a tower (10) above e.g. a factory. This collector has a ring of vertical water circulating tubes (16) with a conical reflector (20) supported above it. This reflector receives radiation from a large number of plane mirrors on the ground around the tower. The included angled of the mirror is between 60 deg. and 120 deg., and is preferably 90 deg. The lower edge (23) of the mirror, which is of polished steel, extends to a level which is more than half the length of the collector (11) below the top of the collector.
