Abstract
The solar energy collector heats a medium by tubular collector units. The absorbent portion (1) is insulated from the ambient air by a series of independent compartments which enclose it completely, and allow use of the rear face of the heater tube. The absorbent heater tube can have thin walls of conductive material, and in contact with the heat-transfer medium over its entire surface, ending in small pipe through which the medium flows and which allow slewing. The tube is flattened, with corrugations to resist internal pressure and support the screens (2) forming the compartments. Its outer surface is scored and covered with matt black absorbent material.
