Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour le revêtement en continu sur une seule face d'une bande d'acier 7 avec un métal de revêtement fondu. La bande est passée horizontalement au-dessus du bain de métal fondu 5, à l'état tendu et une pompe électromagnétique 6 force le métal dans un guide 4 jusqu'à un orifice de sortie au-dessus de la surface du bain, le métal sortant du guide étant amené en contact avec la surface inférieure de la bande et, selon l'invention, on étale à l'aide d'une boîte de débordement 8, le débit de métal émergeant vers les deux bords de la bande en offrant moins de résistance à l'écoulement du métal au droit de la sortie du guide dans la direction transversale que dans la direction longitudinale. Avec l'invention, on évite le débordement du métal de revêtement sur la face opposée à celle à revêtir.
