Abstract
The evaporator for this purpose consists of coils of tube (16) supported inside a cylindrical housing (12) which is filled with powdered metal such as copper or aluminium. The liquefied gas flows through the tubes and is evaporated by the heat of the surrounding atmosphere which is transmitted through the powdered metal. Surrounding the tubes with powdered metal makes the performance of the evaporator less susceptible to changes in the surrounding conditions.
