Abstract

The adaptor (1) may be used to connect an inflatable object e.g. a jack to an automobile exhaust pipe (6) joining a feed line to the exhaust, and using a push fit with a conical elastic membrane to effect the seal. The unit may be an all rubber construction with a body (2) of uniform circular hollow section, which has an integral conical membrane (3) closing an end, and accepting a reducer (5) at the other end. The reducer may have a stop-flanged spigot which slides into the body. The membrane has an axial aperture (4) symmetrical about the body axis. The connection is made by pushing the unit onto the exhaust, the membrane being pushed into the body, and the aperture expanding to surround the exhaust barrel.
