Abstract
Windows to allow visibility into a Faraday cage whilst excluding electromagnetic radiation comprise one or two layers of glass having a microcoating of a conductive metal (e.g. Au) and supported in a conductive frame of e.g. brass. The window panes may be sealed by use of a conductive mastic, specifically a thixotropic epoxy resin filled with powdered Ag. Pref. the metallic coatings are supported on the internal face(s) of the glazing, to prevent superficial damage. Suitable for use for e.g. enclosure of a television camera. The composite glazing combines transparency with electrical conductivity in unbroken superposition.
