Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour la coulée continue des métaux en fusion, notamment de l'acier, selon lequel le métal liquide est mis en rotation autour de l'axe de la lingotière au moyen de champs magnétiques tournants créés par un inducteur statique polyphasé disposé autour de la lingotière. L'invention se caractérise en ce que l'on égalise la fréquence de rotation du champ magnétique à celle du courant électrique alimentant l'inducteur, et en ce que l'on règle cette dernière à une valeur comprise entre 1 et 60 Hz. L'invention s'applique à la quasi-totalité des produits coulés en continu et permet d'une part de faire usage d'inducteurs habituellement utilisés dans ce domaine et d'autre part une économie appréciable au niveau de l'alimentation électrique en autorisant l'emploi de groupes tournants ou, le cas échéant, de simples autotransformateurs.
