Abstract
L'invention concerne une résine phénolique thermodurcissable pour l'imprégnation de supports en papier. On prépare la résine de l'invention par réaction de formaldéhyde aqueux ou de son hémiacétal méthylique avec un phénol dans un rapport molaire d'environ 1,25 : 1,0 à 1,75 : 1,0 en présence de 10 à 40 % en poids d'un diol par rapport audit phénol et d'environ 0,5 à 1,5 % en poids d'un hydroxyde de métal alcalin par rapport audit phénol, jusqu'à ce que le condensat résultant présente un temps de durcissement de 5 à 40 s dans l'essai de durcissement de Stroke et déshydratation du mélange de réaction, jusqu'à ce que la teneur en eau soit inférieure à environ 5 % en poids. Application : fabrication de milieux filtrants pour filtres à air et filtres à huile, notamment pour moteurs à combustion interne de véhicules tous terrains.
