Abstract

L'invention concerne un véhicule, en particulier véhicule utilitaire à cabine avancée, équipé d'un volant à position de service horizontale et d'une colonne de direction verticale en position de service, déplaçable dans la zone du volant et prenant appui sur la partie frontale du véhicule, le système de direction constitué par le volant et la colonne de direction pouvant être amené sur une position de sécurité dans laquelle le volant prend une position verticale, la colonne de direction étant alors repoussée contre la partie frontale du véhicule. Le véhicule selon l'invention est caractérisé par le fait que la colonne de direction et le volant viennent automatiquement sur leur position de sécurité sous l'effet d'une décélération et/ou d'une déformation frontale subie par le véhicule. Application à l'industrie automobile.
