Abstract

A differential pressure transducer produces a signal which is proportional to the pressure difference between the air inlet filter and a point immediately upstream of the throttle. Its output signal is fed to a control circuit which also receives a signal from a tachometer. The control circuit contains analogue to digital converters and digital calculating units. Its output is used to control the fuel injection to maintain the correct air fuel ratio. the use of the pressure upstream of the throttle makes the air flow measurement more accurate and independent of the condition of the engine.
