Abstract

The chain curb may be incorporated in a harness and comprises split rings which are assembled by hand. The rings are threaded individually and rotated 180 deg. to be secured. During threading the splits (4) face one another and after rotation each split locates over a continuous section of the counterpart ring. The geometry of the rings prevents their reverse rotation in the assembled chain. The links are of a curved bar or similar section and the dia (a) or thickness of the bar exceeds 50% of the internal dimension (b) of the ring, i.e. the dia. normal to that contg. the split (4). Once a ring is located between two other rings it is, thus, unable to rotate.
