Abstract

The chain transmission utilises sprockets (1) with supple annular linings (13). The chain has lateral plates connected by transverse pins and may be of the roller type. The lining locates by the teeth (11) of the sprocket and provides a bearing for the lateral plates of the chain. The external dia. of the lining (13) may be nominally less than that described by the root of the teeth (11), and the linings may be located by annular grooves (14).
