Abstract

L'invention fournit de nouvelles briques en silice ainsi qu'un procédé de fabrication de celles-ci. Le procédé de fabrication est caractérisé en ce que un mélange brut de silice inclue de 0,5 à 10 % en poids de nitrure ou de carbure de silicium métallique et, dans le procédé de cuisson entre 1200 degrés C à 1400 degrés C, la vitesse d'élévation de la température et la concentration en oxygène à la porte de sortie du four de cuisson prend des taux specifiques respectivement différents des taux correspondants des cuissons conventionnelles, les taux spécifiques de la présente invention tombent en particulier dans le domaine HIJK de la figure 10. Dans ce procédé de cuisson, le nitrure ou le carbure de silicium métallique est oxydé pour former du SiO2 et ce SiO2 remplit les pores de la matrice. Les briques en silice de la présente invention ont une conductivité thermique élevée et une faible perméabilité au gaz et s'applique notamment à la fabrication de fours à coke.
