Abstract

La présente invention est relative à un procédé de traitement d'acier liquide destiné à la fabrication de fil machine, caractérisé en ce qu'on ajoute, à un acier extra-doux obtenu après affinage par tout procédé d'élaboration, tout ou partie du manganèse directement dans l'appareil de production pour obtenir la teneur en manganèse désirée, on coule l'acier ainsi obtenu dans une première poche ou dans un autre appareil de coulée et on ajoute dans cette première poche de coulée du carbone dans la masse liquide, enfin on coule dans une seconde poche l'acier obtenu et on ajoute une quantité déterminée d'abord de silicium, puis d'aluminium. Ce procédé permet d'obtenir un fil machine ayant une meilleure aptitude au tréfilage.
