Abstract

The refrigerator has a liquid refrigerant storage bottle which supplies vapour to the condenser, located over the storage bottle. The refrigerant operats at a pressure slightly above atmosphere at the condenser temperature. The storage bottle is permanently connected to the evaporator and the condensers are mounted in a series parallel arrangement along the storage bottle. The expansion valve and the compressor are fitted between the storage bottle and the evaporator. The system also includes a low temperature compressors fitted upstream of the condenser, allowing the system to operate as a low temperature expansion engine, when the circuit is idling.
